I liked it when I first saw it, and probably a few more goes after, but 10 years of it certainly took its toll!lol

2012 opening dates are now up online for GYPB:

http://www.pleasure-beach.co.uk/opening-dates-a.html

I dont *think* the wristbands have gone up in price this year (shock horror), £17/19.50 off peak/peak.

And it doesn't look as if there will be any new rides for this year.

Its a huge price for quite a manky old place now. That is just my view of course. It is the home of travelling rides to a point yet they dont ever look out of place, or do they ?

When was the last new ride? Is the 4d show the newest thing, I first went there circa 10 years ago and I can't really remember much else changing since.

Well, since you last visited, there's been a few leased rides come and go within a season. But if you forget them:

Removed in last 10 years:

Devils Drop Sky coaster
Ejector Seat
The Terminator (my favourite thrill ride of all time)
Tristar
Sheer Terror
Go-Karts
Move It (bought, then sold like 3 years later)
Simulator (lets face it, that Stargate to Egypt film was pretty dated XD)

Added (and is still there):

Sky Drop
DiskO
Evolution
Weird go-karts on like a wooden dodgems style track
4D Cinema
Outrage (Miami wave)

Must have been a bit less than 10 as I think it is only the 4d and outrage I don't remember being there on my first trip.

Yes you could see outrage from the back of the park by the sea wall and from the gate next to the resturant place in the alleyway by the ghost train

Funderworld has stopped coming to Norwich, I know that much, but I dont think its stopped completely. And that mouse was Mellors, which still travels about.

Coolskin, here is Move It:

^You both should care - how often do GYPB get unique, ground-breaking attractions which leave East Coast holiday makers with timeless memories....?

Oh wait, its a Miami.

I wonder what they can rent in this year?

At least they own Evolution (though I dont know if thats a good thing or not?!).

Still baffles me as to whay they got rid of Move It.

AND why they haven't bothered getting themselves a travelling coaster. Pinfari, spinning mouse, ANYTHING!

A travelling magic mouse may not be such a bad idea. I know pads of people who were quite upset when it left pleasurewood and loved to ride it.

There was one which travelled with Funderworld but they seem to have closed down now.

Not a clue. I *think* that was removed and replaced by Evolution in 2007.

ANY travelling coaster would be great for the park.

Hell, bagging the Schwarzy from Loudoun would have been QUALITY - they could have lived off of that for a good few years...

Whilst looking for info on the new tower, I cam across this, for sale on ridetraders.com:

Description: The Terminator ride is a seating rack (possibly split into 2 sections) that is propped up 2 pillars. These pillars have counterweights and when the operator is ready, can vary the speed and spin each side of the seating rack independently.
Dimensions W16m x H10.5m (operational height 13m)

d a bike past there today.... Most rides all put back together....and last years wheeled in ride has gone. Parts of the cladding have gone back up for the rollercoaster unpainted....i would have thought it would be easier to have painted them first. What little water was left in the worlds ugliest log flume was frozen....all the rent has gone up signifigantly along the seafront for 2012 and seeing as the PB lease the gardens bit I wonder what will go into the bit after the log flume etc ?

Pleasurebeach was open today £17 wristband - it is off peak price though at the mo. The log flume had its usual fairy liquid event, could see a possible new travelling flat ride in the space of last years outrage ( although was talking to a PB employee weds night who said that there is nothing new and that they are "looking") yet can not be certain that it was not something that has been moved around. The 22mtr high sky drop was in use, evolution was having a spin and that is about it. The part of the rollercoaster that had some big work done over winter has been painted and the wording "roller coaster " has been painted in a new style. The far end of the park looks a right sh** hole, just old bits of anything laying around on full view to all the locals and tourists... not nice ... yet then nor is our old entrance patch either.....

Check out the PB website section under "thrill rides" what do you all think to the "list"
