It certainly has. It is situated on the area where the big wheel stood last year (near to the mini golf in Pleasure Beach Gardens).
It is not included with a Pleasure Beach wristband and will presumably disappear at the end of the season. There is also another attraction adjacent to it where you can climb into a large ball and "walk on water".
I went yesterday all the rides are the same. the 4d cinema is quite good. although the pleasure beach isn't as good as pwh in presentation ita atual ride s are good and they do normally bring a new ride each year.
Just checked their website fo stuff, and got their prices for next year....
Peak wristbands: £19.50 (Ouch....) Off Peak: £16.50 (Still ouch, but not as painfull)
But it gets worse, 'Mini' Wristbands for under 3's are £12.50 (peak) and £10.50 (off peak). That is ridiculous!!
Its FREE, COMPLETELY FREE to get into to Pleasurewood for under 3's!
Its also ridiculous because if I took my 5 year old niece, I'd have to pay the full price for an adult wristband, even though she would be too small for quite a lot of the rides!
Thats why we give the Pleasure Beach a wide birth. One thing which PWH does not get enough credit for is how many attractions there are for say 2-5 yr olds.
And to make matters worse, they never have any good offers on at the Pleasure Beach. I think the best you can get is a £1 off voucher, where as Pleasurewood has '3 for 2' and '2 for1' vouchers everywhere.
I suppose technically the Pleasure Beach does have more rides than Pleasurewood, but none of them are of a decent quality. I wouldn't mind paying the £19.50 if some of the rides were a bit better. I know they can only really go for travelling rides, but still, Fireball would be a good addition, as would a Magic Mouse Coaster....but the rides they have are just basic fairground crap.
Also, the place does not come accross as very professional. I've seen attendants smoking etc. Not a good image.
When PB had Looping Star, Its Bad, Water Chute, Magic Carpet and that grand old entrance (Rather than the metal gate which is there now) i used to love the place, you know. Also Leo the Lion was the mascot, and actually made appearances!
It is a shame becuase lets not forget its still got some classic attractions - RollerCoaster, Fun House, Haunted House and Snails but lacks further quality as you say.
^ I forgot to mention, I went to Yarmouth today, and I drove up along the PB. I haven't been for a couple of years now, but I noticed they've now put a fence around everything outside the main park.
You know there was that little road inbetween the main entrance, and the Log Flume? That been fenced off too, so it is now all one massive compound. I wonder if this will lead to future rides being placed outside the main park area?
And I also noticed that they've flattened out the area where the Devils Drop used to be, and removed the old boat style building.
Also, there was some weird spinny ride down the bottom end that I've never seen before. Nothing special looking, though it was cowboy themed?!
Anyway, back to the rides...lol! I am really surprised that they've never bothered adding a travelling coaster, even the likes of a Pinfari Cyclone would make the place a bit better. We need to get in touch with them all tell them about Twist 'n' Shout from Loundoun.....
^ Yup. Looks like you sit in some kind of barrell/log. I dont actually know what it does, but it does look like it could easily be a Dumbo style ride. Its very small, and is infront of the Waltzers.
Makes you wonder why they bother spending money on something like that, which isn't exactly going to be drawing the crowds in. And they didn't even advertised it as a new ride..... Yet there are LOADS of second hand travelling rides that could do wonders for the place, and really put it back on the map.
to be fair though at least the log ride is rather well themed.................................. well compared to the rest of the park anyway.
There were once plans to theme the whole Log Flume in a mine yard style - i think this is why part of it has been painted brown. I guess they ran out of funds or thought cash would be better spent elsewhere. Like on that awful pirate ship from Whitley Bay or wherever it came from hahahahaha......

Believe it or not they state it on the ride desciption on thier website?!:
>>Acquired from Whitley Bay in 2001 the pirate ship is another fantastic ride from Zamperla. A huge swinging gondola capable of carrying 33 passengers in 8 rows. A giant A-frame supports the ride, the motion of the ride is controlled by one large hydraulically driven tyre on a pivoted beam, with the breaking controlled by another large tyre.
A ride from Whitley Bay? Truely a fact to be proud of.
