1990s were the best era at the pleasure beach with the looping star and magic carpet. Loved those rides there. All a bit sad now apart from the roller coaster isn't it.

Agreed if they were going to get another kids ride you would think they would get something totally different to an adult version they already have. It just seems a larger version of joy land these days which is a shame.

The thing is, the Sky Drop is hardly an adult drop tower, is it? It's so tame, it's more family>kids in my opinion. Which makes this even stranger.

PHW has a kids drop tower and an adult version, so why not PB?

Back in the day Joyland was for the kids and PB was for the teens/adults. seems like they're trying to do a bit of both.

Like I just said, the Sky Drop can hardly be classed as an 'adult' ride.

Good point it is tame... They should leave the kids rides to joy land. But I suppose they don't get the teen or adult market as much these days.

I think the snake slides may have gone to Wicksteed Park in Northamptonshire, they're opening some this year.

So the new coaster is open! I would never have guessed the location though... opposite the RollerCoaster photo booth, where that crappy Vintage car style ride was.

To be fair, it's probably a good location to start getting people down to that bottom end, which is still abandoned.

Is it that spinning coaster? I first saw that coaster last year at IAAPA. I thought it was just an example to show off there spinning coaster, not the actual ride!

Nope, that figure 8 layout is the actual ride. You get about 4 laps. Seems such a strange choice of ride for GYPB, but there was a queue of peeps waiting to get on.

Credit to GYPB, the fencing surrounding both the new rides is nice and colourful (tacky, but suits the PB), with park/ride logos and even Leo featuring on it.

I actually intend on getting a wristband at some point this year, maybe one evening in the summer.

They could do with have some popular thrill rides along that path opposite Rollercoaster. They need to do something go get guests down the other end.

We got wristbands the other evening, for the first time in years! (Must be at least 10!)

The park overall is actually looking really good and well kept.

4D Cinema is pretty poor. The film wasn't too bad but it wasn't 3D at all. And the rocking seats just got really annoying.

Also, I'm not liking the panels being removed from the inside Rollercoaster. I wonder why they're doing that?

AND (this made me àngry) they've started fitting ice white led strip lights around the Rollercoaster. Wtf?!

Any one know if the Rollercoaster has had to have brakes fitted to the track?

This sounds like a good idea IMO, the wooden coasters at BPB used to look great when they had strip lights on them.

Nothing so wrong with strip lights, it's just their choice of colour!

Well there was nothing new that I could see, but there are 3 potential removals taking place:

- The Log Flume. There's scaffolding up around the main tower and the top has been removed, along with the first and final drop. Might just be some more extreme maintenance, but the first drop was only replaced recently, so why again so soon?

- Sky Drop. The top half of the Sky Drop tower has been removed. I've never seen this before, but again, this could be special maintenance they have to carry out every so often.

- Waltzers. Now I think this could be more like an actual removal, rather than maintenance. They've been completely disassembled, which is no quick job compared to a fold up ride on a lorry. Everything has been taken apart and stacked up neatly. Weren't these for sale too?

I suspect the log flume is being repaired, if it was being removed they wouldn't have just scaffold the top half would they?

Pity about the Waltzers i enjoy those, Maybe they're coming to the hills this year.

Well, because of gravity, the scaffolding does start at the bottom....

I travel past each sunday and the log flume has had work going on for some time... it needs a good overhaul !! Sky drop always gets like that over winter I guess its just safety+ maintenance. Some stuff seems to be done super early this year like the mulan.

The waltzers were extremely popular at pwh yet they always made me sick
