Whats in store for 2010.....

So what do you reckon will happen for 2010?

Will see Engima revamped to help capacity? Will it be re-themed? Or even re-located?

Will we see any more changes to Timber Falls? The park did confirm they hadn't finished with it yet, so we'll have to wait and see what they have planned.

And most importantly, will we see any new attractions? We are due some...

Discuss!

I think Enigma will get re-vamped and re-themed but not relocated because it is in a sutible home in the crater.

Timber Falls might get some secenery items.

a new ride probably a rapids.

I agree- something will happen to Enigma. I suspect a name change and some major themeing as well as a new ride break system. They will probably do something to reduce the queue line, so getting all 4 trains working at once isn't out of the question!

If you look at the "Looking to the Future" thread you will see that they pretty much confirm something is going to happen to this ride!

They also state that they will be adding something to Timber Falls- not sure what though- more themeing is my guess, but there could be mechanical issues as well....

The children's playground and parts of the Castle are to be re- themed which could be very interesting!

The relocation of Enigma isn't such a crazy idea really. Lets just say it would be a hell of a lot easier for the park to get planning permission for a tall ride in a 40ft crater, rather than at a high level ;)

When Peter Hadden owned the park he did consider (i) selling Enigma / CBall Ex or (ii) relocating it to the then Frisbee, now Wizzy Dizzy site, so perhaps someone still at the park has put this idea forward.

I would also suggest that relocating the ride would allow better access for maintaince, and rid the need for that steap, slippy wooden walkway down to the ride. 'Lawsuit alley'.

Wow great to see some forum action of recent guys. Well the closed season will be over sooner than we think and we can stop speculating.

Thanks for that Andy, I didn't realise that Peter Hadden and thought about relocation Enigma before :) interesting point.

Oh and welcome to the forum newbies!

Thats an odd place to relocate it though, unless they ment the field behind it?

I think they should relocate wavebreaker near wipeot and turn the hole area into a beach area. I would never happen though.

Yeah the problem with that though is there's house's behind them tree's, so planning permission would be a bugger.

And relocating Tidal Wave would cost too much money.

i agree apart from a rapid although that may come in later in the decade and if enigma gets revamped it definatly needs more carts

Rapids are looking likely as pwh said they want a ride tha everyone will enjoy. and a lot of people visted the park last year so they have the money.

Are PWH Hills in a position to be home to a worlds first?

Mumbo Jumbo at Flamingo Land isn't a massive coaster just has the steepest drop.

I think PWH needs something that is gonna make it stand up to the bigger parks - just one ride can pull in the enthusiasts from around the world!

Pigs will fly first i hear you say, but it is about time PWH tried to get back in the race, Wipeout was a goiod purchase. They need something unique now!

Not in 2010   as you would have all the planning  permission to pass (am i right in thinking wipeout took 3 years to get planning permission??)and im sure there would be opposition to it from surrounding residents :(

Hmm, I dont know. It may be differen't with travelling rides, like Whizzy Dizzy and Thunderstruck. And these Rapids are travelling rides.

Look how long it took to get PP for Wipeout, yet Mega Drop had no problems at all!

Let's start with what we do know is in store for 2010.

We know that something is happening to Enigma. Were not sure if this is a re- theme, relocation etc or what.

We know that the Timber Falls revamp isn't completely done yet, I'm guessing more themeing added to it... although maybe there could be some more mechanical stuff to add?

We know that unseen areas of the Castle are being redone- now that really could be interesting to see what they do...

Finally, we also know that the children's playground is being redone as well- I'm assuming there will just be some themeing put in and some small rides added to it!

Oh, and I like the redone new post indicators. They look cool- I'm assuming that Unofficial Pleasurewood did this, so well done they look good!

Well i went up the park yeasterday, and nothing at all to report, although it was difficult to see through the fog.

In true PWH style, looks like a last minute job again.no

^ Were you able to get to the main car park bit and go up to Enigma etc? Or were you restricted to the gates at the bottom corner of the car park?

We know that unseen areas of the Castle are being redone

But what does that mean? That could just mean they haven't yet finished painting the exterior? And its not like it has a theme indoors to improve...

we also know that the children's playground is being redone

The play area that sits on the old Crazy Golf site? That stuff on there ain't that old, and was in good nic still on my last trip. The only thing I would say about it is that there isn't much, and what is, is kind of repeated around the play area.

But in my opinion, that is far from the top of the list of things to do. Getting something done to the bottom end of the park should be a high priority for the park! Its a disgrace!

^^ You can get into the car park, although i didn't go right up to Enigma, might return sometime this week.

I reckon the Castle improvements will be new stage works, lighting, sets etc etc, maybe new seats for spectators.

:) I must admit the current seats in the auditorium are awful.

As for leaving it to the last, bear in mind there is still about 3 months until the season starts and a lot can be done in that time.  Good job on taking a sneaky visit to the park Andy, shame you couldn't see much though.

Yeah I suppose you can get to the car park during the week as the office's are open then.

One other thing, what exactly have they left to the last minute?

^^ Well, the season i worked there, the Frisbee wasn't ready for first day. At least two seasons after that the first day or so, so many rides weren't ready they offered free Go-Kart rides to make up for it....

Staff were "trained" the day before opening...

They seem to leave putting the Canopies and flags up until the last minute - it just seems like a rush job to me.

Just last year Timber Falls was worked on in the month leading up to opening, why not commence such work in October, and therefore any problems can be ironed out way before the season starts.

I was driving through Lowestoft today, so stopped by the park for a quick look... Drove into the car park and could see nothing much happening still! Nothing interesting to report at all i'm afraid!
