What do you think will happen there/ want to happen there?
Well, I would idealy like.....
Large investment, theme the area, Jungle theme would be good?
Keep SNIG and Ballon Rays (both would fit perfectly with a Jungle theme), remove the CRAP Dodgems and replace with a Ferris Wheel, with a woodern, natural look.
Jungle themed Rapids ride for the empty corner area.
Jungle themed Splash Battle on the lake (with the entrance by the toliet block, not near the Charilift)
Jungle themed restaraunt next to Chairlift/lake, opposite Rapids, which are in the corner.
Thrill ride on Hungry Bears old site. Something unique though, like a Star Flyer.
Yeah, thats I wan't....

The jungle idea is brillant. I wonder if they are clearing the land - there is a lot of sand for example near the clown slide, ready for next year and maybe some rapids????
HOWEVER, I suspect they are clearing the old kiosk they don't use anymore down there.

Well if thats true, that is a start to clearing up that area. Looked such a mess that un-used building.
I don't ever go to Pleasurewood Hills, is sand usually there?
Yes they made a 'sand pit' around the Clown Slide for kiddies. Though all they did was just dump it on the grass. With the rain and people walking over it, it just turned to a 'sand path' really. Never seen any kids playing in it.
Hopefully they'll be sorting out the sand pit in the play area this year, thats always been naff too.
Oh okay, so the fact that there was alot of sand probably isn't any sign that something is happening down there?
At least they are starting to clear away that area, it's always looked like such a mess compared to the rest of the park! I think they probably are thinking of putting some sort of major investment there- that one of the only places I can think of that has enough space!
I have a couple of ideas for the area at the bottom 9of the park
Relocate:Dodgy dodgems to the area next to the merry marina Refurb: Rattlesnake Buy: A Huss King kong place where the clown slide is A Fabri jungle drop tower (100 ft)(this comes in a zebra or python theme) Place where dodgy dogems is A Traveling fabbri rapids where the dinosaur atraction was New food outlet possable next to the chairlift
Overall this would cost between 1.5 and 2 million pounds. I think once we have another big coaster this shoul be the next thing to do
I have a good cheap idea. They build a small building or use a current empty one. and put a large scalextrix track in it and mabey get it sponsered by a local car dealer.
One thing I think should be considered for the futue is a new train for the Rattlesnake. If you've been to Oakwood and been on their Treetops coaster, which is an exact clone, you'd understand why.
It runs much better, and never feels like its going to stall. The park is in good hands to get hold of another train too, with all the other parks CdA own, so the only cost would be transportation.
Also a new train would hopefully bring an end to the horrible roar the coaster has, which would probably cheer the locals up a bit.
Well to be honest, most Pinfari costs are similar to Enigma, so it would be pointless really. Though I am surprised they have never bought a Wacky Worm/Big Apple kiddie coaster, I actually think the park could do with one!lol
Don't know if its the same everywhere but the big apple coaster at GYPB has a min height of 1m. For a kids ride this seems high to me. By the time most kids are 1m they are into slightly larger rides ie: SITG or even the Woodie at GYPB. My 5 yr old loves 'em.
I know what you're saying, but a child can be tall enough for SNIG, but still be too scared to ride it.
My niece is a bit like that with rides.
I just think the park needs a proper kiddie coaster. SNIG is more of a family coaster, it can be quite scary for kids, with the loud niose and dark tunnel.
The light at the end of the tunnel has been switched on in this case. It's so big and open, that you are in only slight darkness for no longer than about two seconds.
I think there needs to be another coaster similar to Magic Mouse (in terms of target audience and thrilling factor), a relocation of either SITG or Enigma, a new kids coaster and then maybe something totally new and family. There was a rumour over on URC a few years ago (before Wipeout) that the park had been in talks with Vekoma about a Motorbike Launch coaster (the same model as the one at Flamingo Land).
I think that would have been a fantastic investment, perhaps near the back corner (chairlift station) end of the park. If a few things were tweaked and moved slightly; and a catering outlet added, that area could become nice - and busy again. It's almost dead these days.
These are all good ideas- do you think people from Pleasurewood Hills actually look at this website seeing as it is the only PWH fansite They could learn alot.
Sorry to Double post but DATMAN do you know if they have plans to theme up the new lifthill at the SING area and when this new painiting work will start
Btw, Reece have a good time at Pleasurewood Hills when you go and take some good photos

No idea on theming on snig lifthill , cant imagine that they will leave it as it is for the main season, as for the painting, a few bits have now been painted in main street
would imagine that the painting would take place over the next few weeks (if it happens :) )
The tunnel on SNIG had chicken covered in the paper mashe stuff, thats why you could see holes everywhere. But by the looks of things this tin shed should prevent holes appearing in the future.
I would imagine they'll be covering it with the same type of stuff soon.
What colour was that boat painted datman? (I swear some posts are missing....)
I noticed today just how 'boggy' the land is north of the clown slide near the old dinosaur patch. I wonder if this would cause extra problems with regards to an extra ride down there?
On another note, Loudoun Castle have sold the Rat coaster, and its been removed already, so keep your eye out for some purple coaster track down the side of the park by Enigma!hehe!
I think what PWH would really benefit from is a mid-sized family wooden coaster. The UK is currently devoid of a modern wooden coaster apart from Megaphobia. Most other wooden coasters are very antiquated and mainly located at BPB.
A mid-sized modern wooden coaster at a park like PWH would certainly put it on the map. I know noise issues may well restrict such a coaster but there are areas of the park that are away from residents and new technologies can reduce noise on a woodie.
Anyway, it's easy for us to sit here and keep suggesting these wild ideas but I'm sure the park have looked into every option. Let's just hope whatever they choose to be their next major investment is awesome/good.
Looks fab now! This is what makes me angry about Pleasurewood. That little coaster would suit the park perfectly sitting in that far corner behind Fireball! But no, they just ignore cheao small coasters that could do the park wonders. They'd rather spent their time on changing the bloody Circus show every year!
They even painted the coaster in brash, in your face Pleasurewood colours!!
Yeah I saw that earlier on TTF. I instantly thought that kind of coaster would be great for PWH!
I must say though Gerstauler have done a terrific job doing that up. I think I remember the reason that AT removed it was the increasing maintenance costs of the ride. With that is mind it must have had a very thorough refurb.
Though coasters of this nature tend to end up on the travelling circuit don't they?
Yeah thats normally what happens, but these coaster may be a little more complicated than some of the other coasters that travel. It was built in the 80's and they probably never thought about it travelling with fair grounds back then. I get the feeling it will stay in mainland Europe.
