golf became run down and just left to rot...as for the eneterprise like many of the good rides they had it just went.....still remember how excited i was when i saw its return on firework night 2011 only to discover it was nt going to be us and was in for a paint up !!!!
And there's no reason it could be painted by the park who were going to keep it? Bad business as far as i'm concerned sorry, No wonder PWH gets in a real mess, it can barely cope with it's own :D
Anyway, remember when PWH had one of theses???

I really dont get the excitement for an Enterprise, they're SO dated now. I'd much rather see a modern day thrill ride, like a Booster or a S&S Screamin Swing.
I love the S&S Screaming Swing, I personally don't care for the Booster though. Although I haven't been in one so I apologise for forming an opinion not based on experience, I think they look like something found at a fairground rather than a theme park and the throughput's gotta be pretty poor. I also feel that s ride like that wouldn't appeal to enough people whereas a S&S SS would be perfect for PWH plus only the second on the UK?
Clearly the opinion of a young wiper snapper sir. Don't see what being dated has to do with anything, a great ride is still a great ride regardless. (it's like those kids who refuse to watch a film because it's not in colour) lol. A lot of theses modern ones are just try to go as high, fast and spin round as much as possible.. not necessary that enjoyable.
Also the Enterprise suite the park as it can be enjoyed by practically anyone. Adults can ride alone and younger kids can sit with someone. It just creates a great atmosphere

It is a great all round ride and still a favourite amongst families plus young kids do get excited about not being strapped in! Given the choice though I would like to see something newer and more exciting but I would never say no to one being reintroduced.
^ Dont know if it went straight there, but it did go to Loudoun Castle. Then it came back to PWH for a repaint, and now lives at Hellendoorn!
Booster's are a bit fair ground-y, but Pleasure island have made theirs fit really well, plus the ride experience is incredible! And, PWH thrives on low capacity rides ;)
Very true, I don't know what I was thinking! So that one that PWH repainted was the old one from PWH? That's interesting. It's crazy that they aren't made anymore though!
There is one a Alton Towers. Why would PWH take one in to just paint it? Wouldn't they have enough of their own to do? lol
I just have fond memories of it, haven't been on one since it left PHW, as kid it was my first big ride I ever went on :P Booster looks a bit tacky to be honest, more of a Pleasure beach attraction.

PWH is a part of a 3 park chain, inculding Bagatelle (France) and Avonturenpark Hellendoorn (Netherlands). The ride was brought down to PWH to be painted (from Loudoun Castle) before being sent on to it's permanent home.
I think Lawrence said that the park owners were very impressed with their own job on Thunderstruck repainted into Tide Traveller that they commissioned them to paint up the Enterprise. Obviously there must have been some financial benefit for the undertaking of the job.
It's not bad business? The parks team are obviously favoured for doing good theme work and paint jobs and were chosen to do the work before it was sent on to its new home... Plus the fact it came from Loudoun so was on the way past PWH anyway. It's no different to Merlin having all their theme work done at Merlin Studios at Alton Towers - doesn't make it bad business, just means that a team at one park are chosen to do work on other things sometimes.
Pleasurewood aren't independent, they are part of a group.
Bad business? They're both owned by the same company, so it wouldn't have cost PWH anything. Apparently, they were very impressed with the work they carried out on Thunderstruck, so they asked them to sort out the Enterprise.
It's a compliment to PWH really, especially work shop guys!
You're missing my point. When I worked in the work shops we barely had enough time to get PWH ready let alone extras, maybe things have changed and they're much more organised theses days. The day before opening they didn't even have any carts on the log flume, I think they just managed to get one repaired in time... talk about panicking, well done to the bloke doing the fiberglass, he certainly earned his keep that day :D

I think things clearly must have changed or a job like that would not have been picked up over closed season... I don't think it is that unfair to give the park some credit and assume they know what they're doing. Quite often people on here seem to think insider information from years ago means things are the same today.
I agree, I just had a negative thought, theses happen from time to time. Just my first reaction was doing that means less time doing this park, that was all.

It does make you wonder how this amazing work all of a sudden came about. How long has that Steve Harvey worked at the park for?
We never really saw a proper ride refurb until Timber Falls appeared, and whilst they done a godo job, it was given a fairly basic theme. Yet 2011 came, and bang, Thunderstruck gets a very good paint job, so does the Enterprise for Hellendoorn, plus that really nice Woody figure appears. It's as if they suddenly got this injection of imagineering from Disney!
Maybe a time came when everyone was on the same page? I think it seems now that everyone at PWH (from what Ben says and from what's been done recently) that everyone at the park is singing from the same hymn sheet.
There is a difference in painting and doing graphics. I know Steve and he has always impressed me, he was re-spraying the SITG carts when I met him. But things like Timber Falls aren't heavy on graphics. Possibly due to the amount of wear and tear it takes each year, plus, it's constantly wet. Inside is painted with Rubber paints obviously, while outside is a silicon based product. Plus the sheer size of it.
Is it still yellow and blue?

No, it's brown and blue now. Looks a million times better for it, too.
Although it is fairly basic, they did do a really good job with the refurb. One day, I'd like to see them take it a bit further, and try to cover up some of the bare parts of the ride.
Looks a like a new ride, So used to seeing it yellow the brown looks odd lol. They spent quite a bit of money and time re-painting it yellow only a few years ago.

I've always thought that the beginning bit of the ride would be ideal as little dark ride section! Or just somewhere to have some significant theming, as it is a bit bland.
