Drift King... What was it?

My memory is fairly good on things that came and went at Pleasurewood Hills, but one of the new additions to the park in 1997 was "Drift King" and I have no idea what it was. (See the map in the Leaflets and Maps section of Unofficial Pleasurewood).

This was in the Fort Fun section of the park... so what was it? Anyone remember?

Can't help you there. I honestly don't think I visited in 1997 because that was the year I first went to Alton Towers.

I cant really remember it much either to be honest, but like Jools said, I believe it was some kind of car/cart thingy.

Basically, the thing that made me think that, is because It must have been that year, because I was young, we were looking through some pictures, and we found a picture of my mums friend on these enclosed UFO bumper cars basically, and that's the only area that they really could have been, plus the name sort of makes sense then :/

I have been lookign through old photos at Pleasurewood, and I think I've found this ride, and I think it should be put in the past rides section.

Awesome! Great job finding that photo, they can't have been there that long as they seem to have bypassed most of us.

LOL The Drift King.

I was expecting a twister or something and when i discovered it was glorified Honda 20p bikes i was most dissappointed! All i remember about them is they didn't drift and most of them didn't work full stop. They were located in the former Fun Factory building now housing the Go-Karts.

Yeah they completely bypassed me too. Never seen anything like that before. I'd imagine through-put was horrific too!
