Rapids Ride

The rumour has been in-brew for quite some time now. Apparently, before PWH aquired Wipeout, they were thinking of purchasing a Reverchon Wild Rapids ride. I really wanted this to happen as the water-based options at Pleasurewood are, well, quite limited. I reckon that empty land where the Hungry Bears used to stand would be perfect.

Yes I heard this as well, it was also on wikipedia, but knowing how unreliable it is, that's hardly proof, I still think the park are planning to put something where the Dinosaurs use to be, or they wouldn't have got rid of it.

I dont think the area where the HBP used to be would be big enough for a Rapids, thats why I said I'd like to see some in the corner of the park next to Rattlesnake. I think they'd suit that area more if they were given a nice Jungle theme, with all the woodlands behind.

Anyway, I also heard from some Ride-Ops that they were going to get some kind of water ride, but it never happened. Whilst I'd like to see some of them Rapids, I'm glad they got Wipeout instead.

I think the park is in desperate need of a Rapids Ride. I remember reading the same rumour a while back and kept checking back on the net to see if they were building it. Alas it never happened! I would love to see a permanent rapids ride as opposed to the travelling model like the one at LWP. I think PHills have the space for it and it would be a fantastic addition. I know it is unlikely but I have always thought how cool it would be.

A travelling model would be great still but I would like it to be themed well so it came across as a permanent ride - unlike the way LWP have presented theirs although I do believe theirs is a temporary addition.

I hope 2010 brings a major new ride to the park - I don't mind what it is as long as it is something that will bring new visitors to the park and draw back old ones.

There's got to be something, as nothing has been added since Wipeout and there is still alot of space in the park.

^ And that is exaclty why I've gotten so frustrated with the park, and came up with my own little plan for the park!

I reckon you're thinking about the Canyon Raft - similar to Alton Towers' 'Boneshaker' ride. The ride was advertised with the line 'ride the rapids'. LOL. 1999.

I recently rode on the rapids at Ligh****er Valler. it was a travelling one by reverchon i think. Anyway it was short but good fun. Would make a nice attraction for the park and could be put near timber falls to complete the set!

They are good fun, but very ugly.

An almost identicle, permant model can be found at the West Midlands Safari Park, looks a lot better than LWV's Rapids.
