Worst and Best Past Ride

Worst:
Eye In The Sky, it always broke down!

Best:
Mega Drop, so thrilling and short queues too!

Next?

Best Ride: The Tempest - A great thrill ride made all the more scary by the lack of over the shoulder restraints.

Worst Ride: Supertrooper - This really was an eyesore. Plus the process of loading and unloading one car at a time seemed to take forever!

Best Ride: Magic Mouse- quite thrilling, medium queue lengths and in a nice, open area.

Worst Ride: Sky Screamer - Horrific inverter-style ride that was painful and rattled like hell.

lol.

Lol, there have been plenty of bad rides at Pleasurewood, where do I start?

Sky Screamer, Thunderstruck, the current Dodgems, Octopus, the current Waveswinger, Megadance, thats about it actualy, not as many as I thought.

Obviously Mega Drop has to be one of the best, along with Megaspin Rollover, Magic Mouse was a good family favourite, though they are way too common and nothing special.

The Tempest is also another classic, along with the original Waveswinger/Carousel and Enterprise. They all looked really good, and had a nice traditional feel to them, compared to alot of the travelling crap that has been there. Oh and the Trioka was another nice traditional ride, along with Eye on the Coast, Crazy Golf and Spiders web (not a ride I no, but still was popular :P)

My next choice would be

Best: Mouse Trap AKA Magic Mouse
Worst: Supertrooper

What type of ride was Supertrooper? I don't think I ever saw it, unless it was that parachute type thing?

^There used to be an awfully old Paratrooper where the Waveswinger currently is, I'd guess they're on about that.

I think I remember it, although I never went on it. The best thing they ever had in the spot was the Enterprise.

Talking of an Enterprises, most people agree with me when I say Pleasurewood should replace Thunderstruck with one

I definitely agree with that. As I have said before I think Thunderstruck is the worst ride at the park and needs to be replaced!

+1 to that

As I said in my topic, I'd like to see it replaced with a Top Scan! Or something similar, like a Submission ride?

Whilst Enterprises are good traditional rides, IMO they are a bit dated now.

Thumbs up to Top Scan! Is there anyone who can pass ideas to Pleasurewood?

I suppose all you could do is ask to talk to the manager, but at the end of the day a member of the public - enthusiast or not, probably won't affect their own idea for future planning in the slightest. I'd love to however, properly draw up some plans of rides, themeing, landscape and logos and present them to the park.

Maybe we should all send stuff in!
lol

Yes, woo, send them that other topics I made!

Its funny you should say that, I remember ringing Pleasurewood before they got Wipeout, I spoke to Denise, who always answers the phone, and asked about any new rides for the new year, and she told me they were choosing between a coaster that goes forwards & backwards, and a Tower ride...? Wonder what the Tower ride would have been? My first thoughts on the coaster was the Bullet from Flamingoland.

And I remember saying to her to get the coaster, if you do, I'll visit 10 times this year, lol!

It nice that she let you know what they were thinking. Sometimes they are all too secretive these parks!

Well being a local park, they don't have much to cover up, If I could have a talk, I would say either Mondial Top Scan or Huss Top Spin, mind you, they have a Top Spin at Chessington and Alton, and a Top Scan at Fantasy Island and Thorpe Park, so maybe the park needs something more origional like a Suspended Top Spin, Topple Tower or even a Rodea/Breakdance would suit Pleasurewood.

^At the moment, as the park, it doesn't need anything unique, it just needs some good rides, wether they be common or not. And remember GYPB had the Terminator for along while, so a Top Spin at Pleasurewood wouldn't really be much of a surprise, everyone would just say "they used to have one of these at Yarmouth".

It nice that she let you know what they were thinking. Sometimes they are all too secretive these parks!

Cant you remember them events that were put on for last year? One of them was just pointless, showing off new cars for some reason from that Kings place in Lowestoft. I emailed that Denise ,ad said this:

Dear Denise,

Regarding the upcoming M R King even at Pleasurewood Hills, wouldn't it be a great marketing promotion for the park if every single admission to the park over the weekend of 5th and 6th July, were to be entered into a prize draw to win a car (from one of M R King & Sons show rooms?

Say if you were to hold the draw just before the park closes on the sunday, that would most probably keep a significant amount of people in the park for the whole day!

If it were to be advertised properly, it could well be a very busy weekend! And say the runners up could all win Season passes to the park?

It was just a thought...

Martyn K Branford

She replied:

Hi Martyn

Thank you for your email.

I have a meeting with Alastair King next week and I will bring this idea up with him.

We did run competitions last year and they proved very popular.

I will let you know the result.

Kind regards

Denise Thompson

Unfortunetly she never did let me know the result.

^ I remember Terminator, looked good, but I wasn't big enough for it when I went there when it was there.

It was the best Top Spin I had ever been on, it done that wierd thing where it moved diagonally, you never see them anymore.

The Tempest was a great ride - it used to terrify me! And yes I quite agree that the EITS was bad but I still stand by Canyon Raft as the worst.

Oh and welcome to the forum!

Why was Eye in the Sky the worst for you? It was just an observation tower, so really it done what it weas supposed to do? I liked it, they were really nice views of the coast at the top etc.

they should keep thunderstruck as it is a fun ridesurely they could build something up where the spider's web used to be.
