Looks very bland/plain.

Don't really see what they're gaining by doing what they have done with the queue?

The whole area just looks too plain for me. They've removed the flowers from infront of the flume and beside it, no colour to the area at all.

Might look different when I see it in person.

Any chance datman of a pic of it from a side angle (taken near the drinks machine?)

:D

The whole ride may look different once they put the tarpulin covers on (i presume they will reuse the cover like how they had it before??) , also the metal bits going over the q lane was this there before, covered before?
there are a few wispy looking plants in that last picture :)
will see if i get chance to get some other wider angled shots next weekend :)

Ok thanks for doing that!

I just think it looks 'cheap'. The wood chip and wooden fence just reminds of what really small parks do to improve. Pleasurewood isn't a really small park, just a small park. I think they could have done better.

It's good news that they are putting the tarps back on. You're right Martyn it does look bare. I would hope there are more plans for the area.

Thanks for doing that, much appreciated!

Surely they will have to put them covers back on, or else people will get soaked because of the splash from the large drop wetting the boat thats about to go into the loading bay?

Yeah, looking at it from that angle does suggest that it does need something. At the moment it is looking very bare. I would hope maybe they could come up with some nice styled covering for the queue line to theme it a bit more.

I think they have maybe ordered some new coverings to coincide with the colour scheme which could be why we haven't had them on yet.

Definatly still think it looks better, would look good with the covers up and maybe if it was surrounded by some trees, maybe larger versions of the plants in that pot thing.

It does just look full of bare metal frame work. They should have permanently removed that frame that goes around the long straight part of the queue line.

And they've obviously put a wooden fence up for the exiting the ride, they should have done this for the queue too. It just looks a mess to me, pretty pointless to?

Why does the queue now turn left before going 'under' the ride? Do you no longer 'zigzag' under the drop?

I think it looks OK. I like what is being done with the park. It is being sprussed up and things are starting to look more permanent which I think is the idea.

Why open it so late when because of noise reasons their is about 8 minutes between rides, so that's a capacity of 210 riders per hour, then it's open for about 6.5 hours on an average day right? That's only 1365 riders in a day!

Whilst if they got rid of the waiting to load, and opened it at 10:
2 minutes between rides? 6720 riders a day!

Is that right?

The ride starts at 11.30 so the people in corton long lane have a peacefull morning
i would imagine the less frequent the ride runs during the day the better for them,
considering the parks attendence  at the moment (highest being approx 3,000 last thursday)
the amount of throughput on the ride is not an issue (at the moment )
as the longest wait for the ride is about  about 10-15 mins max
if the parks agreement with the council and residents to operate the ride at 11.30 each day with the ride operating only every 7-8 mins, then there is nothing that can be done about it.
As said many times before Noise is a big thing with the park
Maybe its time they got a nice quiet water rapid ride :)
maybe next year?

Is that a clue there? Do you know something Datman? ;)

I can see PH going that route next year if they build a new attraction. As Terry said in that email they'll be looking at a family ride so I would hope it's something like this.

It is a shame that those restrictions are in place regarding Wipeout but it's better that than no Wipeout at all! I really wanna see PH succeed and continue to grow in the future. It has so much potential.

No Clue there im afraid, its just various people i have spoken to who have worked at the park for a good few years  , have said that for the last few years there has been talk of pleasurewood hills wanting to get a rapid ride in so who knows maybe next year will be the year :)

It is weird how people have been speculation about a rapids ride for some time now, yet all it woud turn out to be would be one of them travelling ones.

Whilst they are good fun, they're nothing to shout about really. Though they would fit in well at Pleasurewood, especially up the back corner next to Rattlesnake.

What's stopping them building a permanent landscaped rapids ride - apart from the obvious difference in cost. It'd be very nice to see but I agree with you that a travelling type version would probably be what they go for.

Cost would obviously be the biggest issue, along with space. The Rumba Rapids at Thorpe Park are the shortest in the UK, yet they still take up loads of space.

But like I've said before, you can get these travelling rapids with a theme, so they dont look so tacky. And if they were to actually purchase them, they could even extend it if they wanted. All you'd need to extend it is the trough, which they got plenty of for Timber Falls this year, so its not hard to get hold of.

You really want to be thankful in this current economic climate theme parks are really cutting down on retheming and the general attitude towards the park. Alton Towers has cut back loads, compared to PWH they have done loads!

Hold on, so a re-theme of 2 large coasters and the installation of a £15m brand new coaster is cutting back costs?

Th13teens themeing is absoutley fantastic apperently!

I thought I'd bump up this thread to discuss this seasons revamp of Timber Falls and perhaps add some photos of the ride. UP says it looks really nice and that the themeing is up to Wipeouts standards...

I love how mostly everybody was praising Timber Falls last year saying it looked nice and compare it now! Is there themeing spread out around the ride or is it just in the queue line? Looks good though...
