Timber Falls Log Flume

A mini-update on timber falls... I drove past Pleasurewood Hills yesterday and got a quick photo of the park from the back.

As you can see from the attached photo, the space where Mellow Yellow stood is currently occupied by a large crane... Unfortunately the zoom has packed up on the old camera I had to hand, but I could see a piece of track laying on the ground near to the crane which appeared to be brown on the outside and blue on the inside.

I really cant make out whats what in that picture, lol, I've never the park from that angle before. If that crane is sitting where the flume should be, where is the Fireball and Pirate Ship?

brown on the outside and blue on the inside.

Yuk. I was at least hoping for them to attach wooden planks/slats etc to the outside of the troughs.

So it appears it is just a re-paint. Which is something they could have done without taking it apart. Which surely must confirm it had some parts replaced..?

Hi All,

I can confirm that the log flume has just had as paint job, brown on the outside, blue inside,  the pieces have been removed from the car park and are now laying along the main path by the railway carriage diner, it is being re-assembled in its original position, the only thing that will be different on it is the Q lanes, the only other thing that is being moved is the Woody Kopters down to the area where wipeout is also another small kiddies ride, oviousley to keep them occupied while the older ones go on wipeout.

I cant answer that one as i dont know the answer,  but i will say the only wood around the ride at the moment are the pallets the pieces of track are sitting on so i dont know even know if they are planning on fancy wooden fencing around the sides of the track,

Well when the ride was last re-painted, it was't dismantled, so I cant see no other reason for them to dismantle it this time, unless it was having parts replaced.

Also, going to back to what I said earlier, to be precise, "yuk", when Matt said about the new colours for the flume, I shouldn't have sad that really, brown on the outside and blue on the inside is a prett normal colour for flumes, Alton and Thorpes are that colour, so was Blackpools.

Well they're normal colours just as long as the brown is a very dark brown, and the blue is an aqua blue. But knowing Pleasurewood, it'll be a light brown and dark blue and look ridiculous! ;)

Light blue isn't so bad, but light brown is. Oh well I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

Well, I guess the brown would fit in with a wood theme, but sounds dodgy.

Oh right, thats not very good.

The weather was nice yesterday and the same is expected for today, so the park should be busy. Hope theres not pieces of the flume just lying around!

Do you know if any new boats have been purchased?

^ They sure need them and to have the logo put on the front would be good, but I highly doubt it.

i think the boats are the same as before ,  all the pieces are more or less back where they should be so no chance of any accidents with the public :)

Thanks Datman. As it stands at the moment I don't really like it! I was hoping for something more! At least it looks clean - in fact it looks brand new, which is a good thing!

its in exactly the same place as before, the only thing i think that will be different is the Q lanes,  i think its to try and steer the ques away from the entrance of the sea lions, no sign of the boats anywhere so couldnt get any shots of them,  maybe in maintinance area??

That doesn't make sense to me..?

I cant believe how much is being done around it, look at all the pathways that have been dug up to the left?

It really does look like its a brand new attraction thats just been built.

You can tell there are lots of new parts to it, and it appears as if it was completely dismantled, there isn't even the station at the moment!

Love the blue, not too keen on the brown, but the main thing is, it looks better than it did!

No station , no electrics and no motors for the belts yet so anyone planning on going over the next few days wont be able to ride it, lets hope they get it up n running over easter or lots of people will be dissapointed :)

What are they going to do about the surroundings I wonder, I have to admit the flower look was nice, but it was sad to see them drowning, haha, but at the moment it's bare, so any ideas?

Hello, they were iconic, everyone loved the flowers next to Mellow Yellow, I was just wondering if they were planning to surround the Falls in like theming or flora

I personally LOVE it! haa, it looks fresh from the factory - brand new!

I reckon fountains around it would suit well!

^ Wouldn't they just, and at the beginning bit in the middle would be good, or maybe some form of waterfall to get you wet before you start XD, or at the end where the tunnel is/use to be.

Tiber Falls is still under construction ,by the look of things its not going to be open bank holiday monday either  or any time soon.
the ride does'nt look as though its changed since i took those photo's last week.
Maybe they will have it finished when the full season starts :)
