I just read a comment on the BBC Facebook page asking whether the West Midland Safari Park will end up like Disneyland. I think they might be a bit disappointed.
I can't quite tell if this is good news for PWH or not... It's great they now have another asset in the UK, but why haven't they invested properly in PWH?
They dont need too... they can ditch it at any time they are not contracted to keep the park going or anything...most seem to think this will mean the end of the west mids park.... On a seperate note is the land PWH is on owned by WDC ? i forget now...
Probs another Tax fiddle, that's all PWH is for them, better of having the cash in an attraction than paying it to the tax man.
It's why they don't invest in PWH anymore. But when they did it still didn't turn a profit so no wonder they gave up.
At least we still have the park, if anyone else owned it and needed it to make money it would would have died long ago sadly.

^ But you have to give it time. PWH was in a dire condition when they took over, they could never have turned it around in a just a couple of years. It needed (and still does) continuous investment every year.
And in there first few years they did such a good job, a new coaster, some top kiddie rides, the 30th anniversary, costume characters were back, Hobs pit.. it was a wonderful few years, "Small park thinking Big" was there slogan and the GM was really into it.. then it all stalled crashed and burned. horrid dodgems, removal or Boat ride, the rattlesnake, an empty theater for a few years, Hobs Pit became a shell of it's former self and rebranded as a good looking by very lame shooting gallery and all that hard work in the first few years were undone. The park is now worse that it was when they took it over.
Anyway, we'll see that happens.. i feel a turn around is in sights, and there seems to be signs of them making an effort again.

I would say wait and see what the new guy does. Having met him and know what some of the managers are saying I think we are going to see improvements. While you can blame looping group it cons down to the guy in charge and the last one wasn’t great but the new one I think is going to be!
