I'll keep this short and sweet and just talk about interesting points. It was my first visit since 2015, and a lot seemed to have changed.
Unfortunately Fireball, Jolly Roger, Pirate Ship and Pedalos were unavailable. Probably the worst day I've ever at PWH for ride closures.
Cannonball Express looks great with some fresh paint, a new sign and even some new area music.
Wipeout also appears to have area music too, as opposed to just playing generic pop music. And as I mentioned in the other thread, the ORP has moved location, a massive improvement IMO.
The lake looks to be a bad condition so god knows how long the pedal boats will be closed for.
Fireball didn't have any seats which looked funny, and we actually saw then putting it back together later in the day. It reopened the day after.
The technical manager spotted us looking at the Rattlesnake and came over to chat with us! He was a top bloke, told us loads of what's been going on and what could be happening in the future.
RTTT was good fun, again it had a really good sound track, it was very atmospheric. Just a shame that it lacked moving parts.
Main street area was also really nice, the best it has looked for a long long while, and again, the music was a really nice touch. Smokey Joe's also looks really nice inside and out.
Bears grill and the new season pass hit weirdly bring a bit of life to area next to Moby Dick. Entrance area is nice too with Woody and some street entertainers welcoming guests when the gates open.
The street entertainment around the park really is fab, and people were loving it.
The play park next to the Merry Mariner has gone, it hasn't appeared anywhere else in the park so it may be gone for good. This makes that whole back corner look very desolate. I just hope there are plans for that patch of land with this new indoor play area.
There is also new signage EVERYWHERE, from posts pointing you in the direction of certain rides, to advertising season passes and "bounce back" style tickets. And the free refill offers for hot drinks. You'd be surprised at how much brighter and more vibrant the park feels with signs like that dotted around the place.
Timber Falls has had it's queue line/exit path swapped, because there's now an ORP for Marble Madness and it shares the same hut as Timbers ORP, which is in front of the ride, adjacent to MM, which now has an exit path sort of guiding you to this but.
Wavebreaker's ORP hut is now used for maintenance (I assume) and the ORP are now purchased using the automatic machine, where you get it emailed to you for £2. Something that I've seen a lot at European parks this year. Nice modern touch for PWH that.
Ultimately, I have to say, despite most of the flat rides being closed, this was actually my best visit to PWH since I was a kid. And I'm not joking around either. The park felt full of life, it had such a good atmosphere, and just felt really pleasant.
Obviously the bottom end of the park wasn't great, the less said about that the better.
One thing that did niggle me a bit though was how many weeds there were in certain areas. Gardening has always been on top form at PWH, and in general it still is, the area behind Wipeout, and behind the Safari ride/next to the Miniature Railway were both really over grown and looked messy. But that's my only gripe!
Seriously, the park feels transformed, full of colour and life and atmosphere. The music and new signs really really help make the park appear so well presented.
At last overall things are heading in the right direction, after brief stall between full time manages.
I do hope the park sort that lake out, just remember how much of a struggle it was to clean in a few years ago, they must keep on top if that. they'll benefit in the long run.
Sad to read so many rides are closed.. yikes.

Glad to hear that - in spite of the ride closures - you still had a good day out, Martyn. The park are getting some dismal reviews on Trip Advisor at the moment, so i'm glad to see it's not all doom and gloom!
The addition of park entertainers is a very good move, in my opinion!
