Fireball closed?

So apparently due to the horrific accident on the KMG Afterburner in the US (also called Fireball...), KMG have supposedly put a call out to temporarily close all of the Afterburners around the globe, until the cause of the accident is found... is there anything to suggest that our Fireball is down for the count?

I really hope that it is not a fault with the manufacturing of the ride but that's the best thing to do after such an awful accident.

There's nothing about it on KMG's website or Twitter etc.

maybe it's an age thing that cause the accident.. and ours is pretty old now.

I would imagine its down to neglect personally.

I've seen a letter now from KMG saying that all the FRB24 models are to not operate for the time being (that's what our Fireball model is) so I'd imagine it will be closed for the time being.

The accident looked horrific! My worst nightmare on old rides is the thought of metal fatigue. Can it be inspected out, I suppose not?
My thoughts go out to the poor people involved.
I'm glad ours is temporary closed.

Metal fatigue maybe? Horrific accident, hopefully all those involved (who can do so) recover.

Fireball is closed, with a nice professional sign up stating that it's closed due to the manufacturers recommendation.

Just been mentioned on Anglia news. They showed the ohio footage and then a still of woodys afterburner quoting the park as saying they need to ensure it's 100% safe before reopening it.

I can't see Fireball lasting much longer at the park... even if it's declared safe many people would be put off by it, and the direction the park is heading a ride like Fireball no longer works, same as to why they wont fix TTT. i suspect in time they'll be gone and replaced with something less extreme.

I suspect this may be the last season that we have TTT.

Yep, if fireball goes then it'll probably just sit there. Then get replaced by an sbf visa spinning coaster. I'm all for getting rid of TTT as long as it gets replaced by something half decent like an air race or something but that isn't going to happen so...

So it could be three rides the park need to replace, (snake, TTT, fireball) and the old playground... yikes.

Fireball will probs pass inspection but it's a question if the park want to keep it now.. and they're not that keen on Thrill rides anymore. Fingers crossed for an Enterprise.. :P it's about as thrilling as the park is going to get from now on, just the right balance for adults and kids.. it's a good all rounder (like the recent waveswinger)

I see no reason why Fireball will go. The ones in theme parks should be pretty well maintained and presumably get an annual check anyway.

The plot of land TTT is on would be PERFECT for something like an air race. I mean, any kind of decent family thrill flat would be an ideal replacement. It needs something decent going there since it's already got a nice concrete pad ready! Such a shame that nobody ever managed to get the damn thing working. The repainr and moving job they did was superb and thoroughly unexpected t the time.

An air race themed to fit in with wipeout/parrots would be great. I'd prefer one of them to an enterprise anyway because normal enterprises don't do anything for me anymore (haven't tried newer models though). And the alakazam model that was at Pleasure Island can burn in hell, only ride that's ever made me feel ill thus far...

Air races aren't mega extreme and aren't sickening so would be perfect for the family thrill market.

ever been on an air race but it looks good, i wouldn't turn it down.. but it looks like there are too many moving parts for PWH, they're really trying to simplify their attractions, and struggle with what they've got.

Only thing i dislike about that Air Race is the theme... id want PWH to make it their own than keeping a plane theme.
I think someone like this would look much better were that terrible Kite Flyer is.. a ride nobody ever seems to talk about..l

What's kite flyer, that zamperla thing where you lie on your front in a cage around where the mariner, slide and cable car is? I think half the issue with the thing is it's location to be honest. And as for an air race, Tivoli gardens had a somewhat customised one I think. Maybe they could theme it to maritime rescue and get sponsored by the RNLI or something to that effect?

I did Drayton's one last year and it was quite a controlled sensation from what I can remember. It had hangtime and positive G's mixed in.

Yeah it's between the chair lift and mini railway. I always forget they have it, i think it should be moved.
As something like air race is quite tall i reckon it would look better there,

Kite Flyer is possibly the dullest kids ride ever created.

A great live video with staff testing it was streamed live around 10.30am. The newer sign looks good and it's great to see the ride going
