Waveswinger - New for 2016

A picture has been posted on Facebook of what looks to be a very much flattened Tales of the Coast :(

RE: Replacement for Tales of the Coast - 2016

As much as it is sad to see a classic attraction go, TOTC was in a diabolical state during my visit last year, and I can see why they have taken the decision to replace it.

Wonder what this is going to be?

so we're not gett a re-theme, instead they pulled the whole thing down, filled in the water section and going to do something completely different. I suspect they were pulling the tunnel down when the first photo was posted a while ago but didn't expect them to wipe out the whole attraction.

Probs be replaced with a ride we already have, because apparently two of the same things it better than one.

It also means they could turn the castle into a proper 'dark ride' which would give the castle some kind of purpose, but i fear that will also be pulled down soon as they never really bother with it.

The channel for the water is still there Bubbles.

It was mentioned a while back that removing the "cave" was option that the park were considering.

Interesting... Good to see the channel is still there atm, shame the indoor part looks like it's going. Ride needed serious TLC though!

What do you know coolskin? Would be nice to share rather than play 'I know something you don't know'...

It will be good to have new life breathed into what is a fairly large area, good couple of flats could fit in there.

Childhood memories of new lamps for old and the wheel turning full of water..

"New lamps for old" :( Going to miss it, but I can't wait to see what the park does.

Yes lots of memories of waiting a good hour or more for alladins with the wheel turning and birds nesting above your head, the dragon and new lamps for old and the books that were on the way round with the audio.

Good times and memories

I was on about your comment on having 2 flat rides in the place of a dark ride!

You could fit a scream n swing as noise wouldn't be as much of a problem on that site. Is whirlwind still for sale?

My thoughts? Never ever removed a dark ride, for a flat ride. Especially when there are about 10 locations around the park for future flat rides...

Dark rides the second biggest pull to theme parks (behind coasters).

But they might still fill the channel in if they're putting flat rides on it, which is silly as someone else pointed out there are many other locations. But if they're keeping a boat ride without a tunnel that's probably worse. I hope they're re-building it, or they may put the old one back once they've finished constructing and theme whatever it might be.

I'm not to optimistic to be honest, not after last year.. fingers crossed.

What was up with the ride system they already had? I would have thought they would have kept the existing boat system if they where putting another dark ride in.

If the park are ever looking for a flat, (Ride not place to live XD) then I like the look of the hurricane jets at dreamland, not that something that that would look good in the area where TOTC was, but to have it in any of the many other spaces in the park would be great, especially as a replacement for TTT if it isn't fully operational at the end of this coming season.

Maybe they'll dig a bigger hole and we'll have water/boat dodgems ?

Woah, I don't visit for couple of days and the place goes wild!

I am excited about the prospect of a retheme but I with Martyn and hope that it's not replaced with flats. It's great to have a permanent ride system in place and it would be a waste to get rid.

It could end up being one long tunnel?
We'll find out in a few months.

Finally, Josh, someone talking some sense!

Making it a complete indoor dark ride would be the perfect situation in my opinion, but it just ain't going to happen. (They can't even finish the tunnel on Rattlesnake...)

Just like coasters, you can never have too many dark rides...

I completely understand that the tunnel was probably over due being demolished, but it would be good to see them rebuild it. The park already has 2 slow moving outdoor rides (Ponies and Safari)

Very interesting pic been put on Facebook today! I can't quite tell where it's taken from, looks like it maybe from beside the Flying Shcool/Cine180 site. It's interesting because it appears they've flattened the entire thing, including the mounds. Also looks like they've filled in the channel too..... :(
