Safari Adventure - New for 2015

So going by this years park map, the Veteran Cars are going to be receiving a safari theme. The map shows various animals dotted around the ride, with the ride cars donning a safari style theme.

It's great that the Veteran Cars are finally going to receive a set 'theme', as oppose to random classic car/sea creature theme it's had since 2005!

Would somebody be a darling and get a snippet from the map?

RE: Vintage Cars - Safari theme for 2015

Well that's a nice little extra, (like last year's small re-theme of Rattlesnake)
Be good to see this cleaved up a bit , but I will miss the bright single coloured cars lol

Now that is a great little surprise and what a cool theme to give them. How wrong we were with the TOTC, hopefully next year!

I was looking a bit tired so this is cool 'upgrade'

Yeah, I think so but re-painted, possibly the cars will be re-done and it might even have a new name.
I doubt there will be any major changes to the track itself (a tunnel, or hedges) but maybe. If they really wanted to they could have a pretty decent ride here than the scruffy, tired old thing that have now.

I guess if they don't advertise it as 'new for 2015' then we could safely say they spent pittance on it!lol

Although regardless of what they spent, if it's a new experience, damn straight it should plugged as 'new'.

Well it's not really a new ride, just a new paint job and a proper theme.
But yeah you'd thought they would mention it.

Funny, all this has come from looking at the map... we might have completely got this all wrong.

Not just the map, the biggest clue was the facebook post showing the snake and saying about a 'big surprise'.

RE: Veteran Cars - Safari theme for 2015?

New photos from Official Facebook;

looks ok. I can't really see much as all the pictures are close ups. The cars look good, shame no trunks are on the roof like on the map. The animals look good although it would have been nice to see the hippo in a bit of water. a bit of landscaping would have been nice, just to give it s bit of a journey. Does anyone know if the station is changed at all?

I'm sure I shall have more shots from around the park soon enough on my page :)

The cars do look a little disappointing. Just painting every car beige with some army style spray paint would have been neat.

Ultimately it all boils down to the budget that they had for this. If they had of gone for a full blown retheme, then yeah, some landscaping would be good. Lots of bamboo plants to hide what's around the corner etc, and sound effects for each animal.

RE: Veteran Cars > Safari Adventure - 2015

It looks alright, hard to tell what they've done with it from those photos (not sure why they need to put a box in front of the it) But other than a car in the quick sand looks like it's just filled with those old animals. Still, looking a lot tidier that the previous versions.

RE: Safari Adventure - New for 2015

Amidst the disappointment of my trip to the Hills, the Safari retheme of the Veteran Cars impressed me, it was better than I was expecting it to be. I was mainly impressed with the new look of the ride station:

Could maybe do with more animals and more bushes as it's all a bit flat at the mo. And they could do with the gardener paying a visit as it looked a bit messy, but that's probably due to the time of year.

But there were quite a few speakers dotted around, playing atmospheric music and animal sounds, so it was pretty neat.

They've done very well. A simple upgrade but quite effective.

Yeah looks good, should be even better next year once many of the plants start to grow as planned.

What is the thing on the right laying between the two trees? An inflatable doll?

Just checked Aladdin's cave pics and you're right, there is one hanging on a tree!! I hadn't noticed that before, must be left overs from the Chills event. Interesting that they are still left out though

It's quite a habit at the park.
Easter 2008 i found this in the mini railway tunnel.
There was a bat hanging up as well.  Might have a photo of that somewhere.

Yeah they've always been pretty poor at putting the Halloween stuff away. In fact, Tales of the Coast kept all it's Halloween tat since it was Tales of the Haunted Coast.

But regardless of that, in my pic of the Safari ride, that isn't a left over from the Chills, I visited during the Chills!
