RE: The 2015 Season

I agree, some of the chosen photos were a little odd, but they made the selection themselves.

Think something might be up with the parks Facebook page. They've posted about the Chills quite a lot, yet nothing has come up on my news feed, I've had to look at their page to see what they've posted.

And going by the amount of 'likes' there posts are getting (ranging from 0-8) I guess there stuff isn't showing up for most people....

I hardly ever see there Facebook posts anyway, they never come up and I tend to have mine set for show posts in order. (most recent)

I know some people have had to pay for their posts to reach more news feeds (applies to business pages like PWH)

Well it's a shame as it seems all their FB efforts to promote the Chills is wasted as no one is seeing it.

That is so wrong.
Be naked all you want just don't rub your naked bits on things other people wish to use, sit on or touch.. be respectful.

I did end up visiting for the afternoon. I might do a full trip report, but I'll do a quick summary now: not good.

You wouldn't even know that there was a halloween event on (aside from pumpkins randomly dumped ALL over the park)

But, the most stupid thing is, you can only go on the 3 extreme attractions once... So there was no queue for any of them all afternoon, even Hobs Pit had a completely empty shop. Just one guy working behind the desk, with not one guest in sight. The people working on them must have been bored out of their mind.

It completely kills any kind of atmosphere when you go on these scare attractions on your own, especially the very popular Hobs Pit.

PLUS, they kept this pretty quiet, all rides closed at 4pm! leaving just the 3 extreme attractions open until 6pm - but you can only go on them once, and most people (including myself) had already done that before 4pm, as you could see streams of people leaving when they realised the rides were closed. Everyone seemed at bit confused as there was no mention of rides closing at 4pm anywhere.

Oh, and Hobs Pit Xscream was NO different to the normal ride, and if anything there were less actors. There wasn't anyone to scare us out at the exit, and there wasn't anyone at the ride photo point, so the ending is even more uneventful than usual.... all this yet you have to pay extra to go on it....

LOL I'm speechless really.   Only three rides open for the last three hours but only one go per guest,  just pathetic.
Maybe because it was Wednesday? Maybe things will be better for Halloween?

Seriously 2015 has been a poor year for the hills from what I can make out.

If they keep up these poor Chills events people will just stop visiting.

The rides have closed at 4 except for the last day for the last few seasons - it is nothing new.

Weekend weather looking good so lets hope for a busy fireworks and end of season

New or not, it's unacceptable to have an advertised opening time until 6pm, when they really mean 4pm.

It's made a lot worse when you take into account that you can only do the extreme stuff once. There's no point keeping just the extreme stuff open for 2 hours when everyone has already had their turn on them. Basically they just need to remove the ridiculous limit of one go per scare.

No need for limits like that at a small park like PWH.

I've just got home from the park and what irritates me is that the attractions are low throughput but last literally a couple of seconds. On top of that, you only get to do them once and no other rides stay open. I was under the impression that the rides closed at 6 and only found out the closing time was 4 at the gate.

Trying to market X-Scream as different is stupid. Fright freight had decent themeing inside but the scares just didn't cut it. Area 51 was actually pretty good though. If they kept some of the other attractions open then it would be a different story, but overall the whole thing was quite poor.

So four rides open for 2 hours, that you can only ride once.
Well done PLW, you know how to put on an event.

Wouldn't be so bad if they closed at 5 and have one last hour with the scary stuff.

Has the park been busy??

Today it was busy during the day but by the time the main park closed there was basically no one there. It was probably because everyone did the horror things earlier and just left when the park closed.

I actually preferred Fright Freight over Area51 (and even Hobs Pit). It was well themed and very claustrophobic, with plenty of moments where I was expecting a scare, which kept me on edge.

Just going in them on your own, with no one else around, sort of ruins it. No atmosphere at all.

And that popular Trick or Treat game was only on for 1 hour...

Really didn't look good today as Enigma kept stopping at the final break and Jolly Rodger kept getting stuck at the top.

Maybe they should have no limit of the 'horror rides' and not charge extra for the privilege to ride them.

I considered going on Saturday as it's Halloween so they might put on a better show but decided to go to work instead lol

Cracking set of fireworks. Jolly was operating in the dark with smoke machine and flashing lights as you hit the brakes, also for the first time the entire column ofj jolly was lit up it looked great then a couple of drops in total dark...fireball was looking great all lit up too. I'm such a anorak. Plenty of people about and I noticed too tw dimmly lit lights at the top of wipe out unless it was a reflection.

At least they put more of an effort in then. On Thursday JR and fireball lit up but nothing operated past 4 apart from our last ride on fireball.

Don't know if something is going on with Skyhooks or not, but it was missing all it's chains and chairs on Wednesday:

Could be early winter maintenance, or....

Was anything going on with the lighthouse when you where there? It was down when I went in the summer so I wonder if it's been closed the whole time?

I wish they'd take all that off. And while they're at it, repaint it black and give it some decent landscaping. ;)
