RE: New for 2014: Marble Madness - MS Wild Mouse Coaster

Any of these? There's only one design and that's what it's gonna look like...

You prefer the crappy old mice? Which is what arrived at the park and we wanted them to change?!

Check out this one at Six Flags, similar colour supports to what's proposed at the hills but with yellow track. Minimal theme but still looks nice. And yes I also hope the base frame is disguised to make it look a little less temporary.

I think its just the frame of the ride or any of these rides including our old mouse that look so butt ugly......

Yeah the support structures are a bit of a mess on these. Annoyingly, the Reverchon mice coasters have a nicer, neater support structure.

That's why they're painting them grey or black, so they don't stand out but look stylish.
I love the yellow cars, couldn't care less if it's 80s or retro.. I'm not a follower of fashion.. if it works and looks good then that's all that counts. It's the best of a bad situation.

I'm still not entirely sure why people are descriping the addition of a solid coaster as a bad situation because Sean has left and TOTC/Enigma have been pushed back a year...

I know what I would rather have and I am fairly sure that concurs with the general publics consensus too.

Absolutely. Sean leaving is not a big deal, not having a show in the castle is a little disappointing but having an outdoor high dive show is awesome.

As I've said a ton of times the GP love a new coaster and it will be great to market. Having a year where the park can advertise "Marble Madness: New Coaster for 2014" is better than them advertising "New for 2014: Sean is staying, Enigma has a second train and TOTC now works. Yay!"

It's just personal opinion, it's a bit of an uninspired coaster and unless they remove one of the others we'll never have anything better.

Who cares about that right now? The park needs to find its feet again after a decade of being run into the ground, and I cannot fault them for what they are doing, they are making the right decisions for the park, and that's what's important.

we can battle enigma for months on end - i fear it will never have its upgrade etc but what Martyn says about the years of rot is very true

What they have already done to rides, the general appearance of the park and the quality of shows and food is amazing. That and the investments brought in have turned the park from just about being out of business to making a profit and growing year on year.

The focus is, and should always be, on increasing guest attendance and maximising your budget to do so. The coaster probably wasn't part of the original plan and thus Enigma and TOTC would probably have seen their refurbs... However, if you get the opportunity to purchase a crowd-pleasing coaster that will bring in the punters then you damn sure do it.

No matter what ride you put in, nothing will have the draw of a new coaster!

not sure on that....the mega tower drop we could have had ( and have until june this year before planning runs out ) would have been a huge draw

It would have been - but it's still only a drop tower, no matter how big or tall it is, they all have the same general feeling and are a fairly commonplace attraction.

Having a UK record beater would have been a bloody good draw to people but I still maintain that a coaster will have a bigger pull.

People love coasters - way more than anything else.

Coaster is a bigger pull because more people enjoy them. Drop towers are pretty scary and a lot of people avoid them.

I dunno... that drop tower will always be 'the one that got away' for me. Could you imagine having that and Hobs Pit? The park really would have been back on the map.

It would have been amazing. I have a feeling though that if we had got the original drop tower then Hobs Put might not have happened, something though we'll never know for sure.

I know there seems to be a lot going at the hills at the mo, but I'm surprised at the lack of publicity the new coaster is receiving. This time last year Hobs Pit was all over the place....
