RE: New for 2014: Marble Madness - MS Wild Mouse Coaster

No, we dont want the crappy Reverchon spinners! MS Spinners, on the other hand, are awsome and if they put the spinning cars on this, it will be pretty unique.

I find it odd they would go for a marble theme of the cars didn't spin like marbles. .. would be a bit if a silly theme.
Plus they kept going on about 'the mouse is back' and for many people they'll be expecting the same type of ride as before.. other wise it's not 'coming back' so I now wonder of it's going to be the spinning version.

OR, Marble's has nothing to do with the mouse and this is a different ride??

No spinners guys! Although what a great idea...who knows! The original name put on the table by us in the office was 'Ricochet!' - Themed to a Wild West theme. The cars were going to bullets, the station as a revolver etc - Marshall's for operatives etc. This was deemed too 'aggressive' for a ride after the launch of HoBs PiT, Looping very much want to promote a 'Family' ride with this coaster and have opted for 'Marble Madness' - Think bright, brash, fun and impressive to look at rather then a full on theme as such. It will look really good when completed, each car will have different expression - I've seen some of the artwork already and it's really nicely done. Hope that clears a few things up for you. :)

Ben you shouldn't have told us your awesome idea for a theme, that would have been quite unique. Hopefully the bright affair won't look too out of place at a theme park and by that I mean not too fairgroundy. I have faith it will be a stellar coaster.

From what you are saying Ben does that mean the theming is not being done in house?

Theming/Painting is being guided by Looping.

Interesting stuff. What's the estimated opening date? Is it going to be a May opening or any earlier/later?

Cars having individual expressions? Odd, though I'm sure it'll make sensewhen we see it. Thanks as always for the updates ben.

That's interesting but a bit hit and miss. I'm not understanding the marble theme.. unless new spinning cars are introduced later on (maybe that's the plan?) But just having it bright and colourful seems like a easy way to not theme it.. lol

The other idea does sound fantastic, and really suites the park. Doesn't sound aggressive it sounds cartoony and well themed.
Oh well, have to wait and see what happens.

If it comes from the top though, then that's what's got to happen.

I do wonder if this whole mouse thing was a good idea, it was all unplanned and feels a bit last minute.
If they held on another year or two they might have found a much better coaster... It sounds like they got carried away with the idea of having 4 coasters.

Whether this was a last minute decision or not, this type of coaster is ideal for PWH. They're not going to spend big just yet whilst the visitor number's are still very low. The important thing is, they're filling the park up with good, solid attractions. I personally think they could really do with a proper kiddy coaster. And I'm genuinely surprised they haven't got one yet, especially with all new kids rides they've been adding.

exactly we still need more rides and attractions to fill the park up - its a good start - lets hope numbers sustain or grow this year so more investment can be done

I'm still surprised at how low the increase was last year, especially with all their marketing efforts, Hobs Pit and The Chills.

The Chills doesn't count to last years figures, it's part of the 2014 figures.
The Hills didn't have a great rep, and the past Halloweens have not been too popular so there was no reason why the public would think things have changed. But with plenty of positive feedback, and word of mouth does more then marketing the public will be hearing how good it was and how much the park has improved so it's *this* year which will be the real test.

true yes. 2011 was very busy though, 2012 and 2013 not so

Marble mockup:

I really like the orange and grey track colour. the cars look ok, I just hope it doesn't look plonked in, and there is some theming around the ride.

Those se mouse themed cars really did look awful, what were they thinking?

I like the colour's of the actual ride structure etc, but the yellow cars with the red stripes look a bit..... retro.

I hope the mouse heads are removed (I can see them using the ears for the new eyes, but the face's need to come off, please!)

Also, I think this could look really nice if it's given a nice, basic theme park treatment. Think nice fencing, nice garden with shrubs etc around it. That would look better than a vulgar theme IMO.

Does it look a bit too 'kiddie friendly' ? It might put older people off riding it thinking it's a kids ride.
