LMAO! That's genuis!
And yeah, CdA did good with Wipeout, but then nothing for the following 6 years. Literally nothing. They even admitted that when they sold the park.
the old entrance way is part blocked yeh, yet u can drive into the park by the maintenance area where the caravans are and where people still live in them - or they did last time I looked... as for the old public drive in bit the old metal gates are there with all enigmas rusted bits and you can walk right up to that - part of it just before this is part of the nature reserve bit that was created a few years back
Yeah I know the gold club side is all blocked off, there's a few signs denying public access. but the roads just lead you to locked gates, I haven't been up the other end for ages, wasn't sure if people were allowed along there anymore.

I see news of this addition hasn't gone down too well over at Towers Street. I dont get it, I like these coasters and I can't remember Mingo's being exceptionally rough etc... yet Lightwater valley installs a kids park and people wet themselves with excitement..?
If they stick with the mouse theme then I agree Mouse Trap would be the best way to go as they could market it as the return or similar. I really hope it's not mouse themed, so generic and boring IMO.
Ben what happened to this name announcement that was supposed to happen a couple of weeks ago? Have you decided against it or has there been a rethink on what can be done?
I'd be worried that if they stick with Mouse Trap again then people will just be expecting the old spinner to return and will probably be disappointed. It's a different ride and it needs a different name.
Off topic but people on TS weren't particularly pleased with LWV's Angry Birds kids thing - it was met with the same response as Thorpe Park's Angry Birds thing... A big 'meh' haha!
With mrbrightside and Bubbles on this one. Not really thinking a mouse theme/name is a good idea as people will be disappointed when their beloved spinner is not back! (I also think the mouse theme is god awful and far too common, really doesn't fit in with any of the park's themes tbh)
Regarding the naming and theming it's not a generic Mouse one, you'll be pleased to know. We're just waiting on final confirmation that what we want to do with it gets the thumbs up. Hopefully next week I'll have some news for you :)
Yeah I agree about the mouse name now that you put up a good argument; it wouldn't be right to name it the same as before. And as I said before I'd prefer them to steer clear of mouse theming, far too generic.
On the note of LWV getting the AB Playpark I personally think that it was a great move to get such a recognised IP at a smaller park - I would imagine it pulled in a few extra guests? I don't think I've properly played Angry Birds for over a year now. I think TP are way too late to the AB party, it's an IP that for me has had it's five minutes of fame - it's certainly not in the same league as Mario and Sonic which have been popular for 3 generations!
Edit: Nice to know, thanks Ben. I can't wait to see what yo guys have up your sleeves.

Thanks for the update ben! I'm guessing as things still aren't finalised, the new coaster won't be opening with the park? (Nothing wrong with that by the way, I would always prefer time was taken to do stuff properly)
this reminds me of when the then cannonball express was being painted from blue to brown and the track laid on oil drums in the car park virtually where the mouse now lays
