RE: New for 2014: Maurer Sohne - Wilde Maus Classic

That's what I thought- although dark - I cant see what else it would have been doing up leisure way as it wouldn't fit in anywhere but the park ??

The more I think about this the more I realise how lucky we are. With the gate figures as low as they are, its a miracle that Looping are still investing at this sort of rate. Yes we'd all love a wooden coaster, but with only 180k visitors a year that ain't going to happen any time soon. I said a long time ago that the most important thing for the park is more attractions, and that is what's happening every year. Its not as much of an empty park anymore. And that's great. Fill it with basic stuff to create a full park, then over time start replacing them with better attractions. Go back to 2011, who would have thought then that in 3 years time we'd have TEN new rides, including a drop tower, dark ride and a coaster, nothing leaving the park. Epic.

completely agree, and all the theming there finally doing to both the rides and the park makes it look far more professional than ever before, at the rate it is finally going maybe it'l be put properly on the theme park map in just a few more years!

Very well put Martyn. It's incredible that there has been so many new attractions and what's is also nice is that they have not just been plonked in, the park is being thought about and the installations are of a decent quality. I'm excited for this year as I think it will be the biggest for a long time.

And for me the marketing last year is what brought the extra guests in. All well and good having a new ride but the marketing needs to be spot on and it was. It brought the park up a notch or two.

All very evident when Jolly Roger was installed, I would have thought that was a marketing man's dream! Plus poor choice of name didn't help!

Surely with the park now turning a profit, regardless of how many extra visitors these new attractions are pulling in, it's just fuel for further investment. I don't understand where the shock is.

Looping have an extremely bad reputation to turn around, it is by no means complete yet, but the fact that the park is now turning a profit, shows great potential!

As long as people still visit, PWH rep hasn't been very high in recent years, and that's all starting to change.

Two issues I've thought of; capacity. These are fairly low capacity coasrers though they do usually have 7 or 8 cars, but how long will it be before its running on one or two cars? And second, height restriction. Chessington has there's at 1.4m, the highest restriction around. Wipeout is only 1.32m.... need to do some research to see if it can be lower and it Chessington are just being ott (as always).

Good point about height, just had a quick look at Gotham City Gauntlet Six Flags and they have 1.16m with adult and 1.37m alone.

Hansa Park's Crazy Mine states 1.10m.

Quite variable.

A booster is certainly not the ride for PWH in my opinion. In terms of flat rides I think the park needs something majestic that looks good, something along the lines of a Giant Frisbee , or even a shuttle coaster type ride like a disco or intamin surfboard ride.

Nice ;) Would have been good for them to get a kiddy coaster this year too. 2 new coasters, one for kids and one for adults would be invaluable marketing.

Just general complaining because nothing was being brought in, just new play area's, ruining the look of SITG. I actually said that Alexis didn't have a clue how to run the place, yet he's ended up being the best manager the park has ever had! It was CdA that were destroying the park, not Alexis. Sorry big man :)

I suppose as soon as Loopings took over maybe we expected instant results but I suppose it takes some time for things to start happening. The park management have done a great job in convincing the big guys to keep investing and releasing funds which shows how well they are actually doing.

CdA's problem they were poorly managed and not organised.
They made their mark in bringing it wipeout but I'm not sure even that was worth wild, it keeps breaking down.

However, they did pick the park up a the worse possible time and they started the heeling, had they not done that Loopings wouldn't be where they are now.

Bubbles I think it's fair to say that had Wipeout not been bought, Pleasurewood would probably not exist anymore.

Yes, I was defending them, I don't think it was right to claim that  "CdA that were destroying"  It was them to kept the fire burning a bit longer.
