While I welcome the addition of a new coaster and pleased that its not a standard spinning coaster, this announcement hasn't rocked my World.
In my opinion, these kinds of rides are OK. But thats about it. It wasnt the most popular ride at Flamingoland and I only ever saw the queueline full once.
What could make this, is if its themed well. If its just plonked on Fireballs spot as it was at Flamingoland... hhm
Unfortunately the wait for a custom coaster continues as another off the shelf model comes into the park. (OK technically Enigma was the only Jumbo V made, but I am talking about custom made for PWH.)
EDIT: Been thinking about this more and now coming round to the idea. Also reading about the other investments is making me quite enthusiastic about 2014. Moving Firelball to its new location will be a great move in my opinion.
We will of course be making our annual journey from the midlands to support the park.
Now if only they would invest in some Wood. The Roar-a-sauraus at Storybook land would be ideal. Wonder if PWH marketing went to Fun Spot to ride their award winning new wooden coaster during IAPPA?

Oh I don't remember the hedge being so short.
I'm sure they'll give it a proper installation when it's moved, Is it possible for them not to have the back panels ?

I think it would so look much better like the one at thorpe park and the traveling one that goes around with the fair if the back panels were removed...Ben perhaps this could be asked ?
First impressions count for a lot... It's been a long while since PWH has looked so attractive as you first drive into the car park. Wipeout is very striking, Enigma looks great peeping out of the top of the crater and the new entrance is very slick. It would be a real shame to ruin the overall aesthetic if Fireball ends up looking a bit rough around the edges!
Turn back the clock to the Magic Mouse days, and things were very different. As fun as the ride was, it was very, very "fairground" and didn't help the look of the park at all!
panels were probably useful during it's touring days.
But after going to all this trouble, to move it and make it nice and themed.. it's over ten years old.. how much life has it got left?
Id be worried it will end up like TTT.

I do have the original newspaper cutting and did scan it in for use on here - I thought the ride was bought bran new wasn't it by peter and peggy ?
Yeah but they would have come as standard, it is a 'fair ground' ride after all and appears to be originally been built with traveling in mind. Im just guessing, I can't think of any other reason why it was need panels other than for touring.
I wonder if it will get a new paint job while they're at it?

It might be worth looking at whether the park could exchange the travelling model for a park one with KMG. It would probably be far too much work to make the existing Fireball a 'park' one. Either options would cost a lot of money IMO. I guess proper justification for that would be the fact that it doesn't perform as well as it should when compared to other versions of the ride. Anyway, slightly off topic. I feel the news of the mouse is great and trust the park will do what's best when it comes to theming. 2014 looks like it'll be the best season yet! I may even visit again (haven't been since 2011).
Leon I'm disappointed, a lot's changed since 2011. Would be nice to trade it in with KMG but iT would still be a very costly affair I would imagine. Be lovely to see a permanent version though.
The park has announced on Facebook that the roller coaster has started to arrive on park . Hopefully some nice photo updates will come our way soon. :)
as for fireball...as long as the boards are removed and the lights are sorted it will look good to me - the odd rides that it now gives are so sporadic.....
I'll post some pictures when the thing starts getting built. There really isn't a lot to show at the moment. Just chunks of metal on a truck. Once the painting starts, things will get a little more interesting :)

But even pictures of it on a truck and chunks of metal will be good to see.... and did it come through the old entrance at the golf course/caravan side or the gates by the main office ?
Yeah I concur, I thought it was supposed be last week?
Just thinking with it being near Timber Falls maybe the theme may match somewhat or interlink. An effective but relatively simple theme could be that of a saw mill with the cars themed as circular cutting blades. It's not really very original but could work. They could call it Saw: The Ride. :/
On a personal note this is awesome news. I love these little coasters and it will fit in so well at PWH. Some bright garish colours could look quite good, so long as its not pink and yellow!lol in a perfect world they'll give it a mine cart theme, but Im xonfident it'll look good whatever they do.
Not sure if related but saw a rather large local crane driving down the Tesco hill just before 7pm...had it been at work at the hills ? it wouldn't fit in the petrol station or supermarket entrances so who knows....
