Its really poor IMO, and disappointing. The park was on the rise, people were talking about it on most forums, now all of a sudden, all the hype of PWH has gone at the click of a finger. If they're not going to connect with fans (other than "which ride do you prefer"), then people will loose interest. But it seems thats what the new guy in charge wants. I'm guessing he doesn't have much experience in a management roll?
I think the slogan/ethos of "Little Park Big Thinking" was exactly what PWH needed. Thinking big, building hype, publicity stunts (12a certificate), getting people talking on social media etc. It felt like a park that was growing fast.
Perhaps the added investment in advertising and promotion didn't convert into increased profits?
Perhaps but if that was the case you don't just give up after one season, that's mental. As far as I'm concerned Ben knew what he was doing, got people talking about the park - he even got nominated for an international award for the social media he was doing! Surely that's enough to say that what he was doing was working so to remove 90% of it seems truly bizarre! Does anyone even know there's a new coaster being built at the park? Not many people. If I was Loopings I'd be concerned.
I completely forgot about that nomination Josh! That makes the whole thing even worse, because as you say, it was there in black and white, yet they're letting all that hard work go to pot.
i think its all down to budget - maybe there will be a replacement for peak season - lets hope so yet I have to admit there appears no buzz this like last year
I don't think it is. They have someone doing the Facebook stuff. I follow Yesterday's World on Facebook and i get more regular updates, interesting posts like old pictures of Gt Yarmouth, construction photos of YW, fun facts about the past, regular updates reminding me that the place is open and the do killer cream teas and old fashioned confectionary, competitions to win a family ticket - this stuff in just the last couple of weeks! It costs nothing but a little bit of time and imagination - there's already someone doing it. It's been reigned in. Where's the ticket giveaway to celebrate the opening if the new coaster, where's the construction updates to get people excited?
To me it's simple but effective stuff and it's a missed opportunity. This time last year Hobs Pit was all over the place, people were talking about it - enthusiast sites the world over we're talking about it and it didn't happen by itself! I know this coaster is not quite as unique or special as Hobs Pit but it's what you make of it that counts.
Hi guys, I am new here and just wanted to say a couple of things!
1. You guys rock as you are the only place where you can get updates for PWH!
2. Marble Madness looks good so far on what we can see! Has there been an official opening date set yet?
3. I totally agree that there has been a HUGE change in their Social Media presence, they used to be fantastic with Ben, even to the point of being put up for awards. Now it has, as you say become very robotic and flatlined in personality... Such a shame, why are they not shouting about one of the only "new" coasters in the UK this year?
You're spot on there Josh. Whats the point in opening a new coaster if you're not going to market it?
It's not just about the product you offer, it's how you sell it. And at the minute, PWH isn't being sold on anyone.
That is a very nice photo you got there Matt! Looks lovely with all the greenery around it. And the ride colours look ace... Cant wait to see it in action now.
Yeah true Coolskin, not many regular posters. Hopefully, we'll get some more members when the park opens full time and the new coaster opens.
PWH's Facebook page just doesn't stir up excitement like it used to. Some nice updates but they seem impersonable. Again hopefully it'll pick up when the coaster opens.
I see andy b ( once quite regular ) still visits yet has not made any comment for so long now.
Can't believe we haven't had a closed season update / construction update on fb
At least they are posting daily but it's the same old stuffy generic posts 90% of the time... The new manager doesn't like social media though does he? #backwards...
Maybe the new chap just doesn't want updates, behind the senses stuff being made public. Which is unfortunate because for many that's the most exciting and best form of networking... we love 'work in progress' it keeps us interested

Nice work Coolskin, thanks for the update. Were you given a guided tour of the ride or did you have a nose around yourself?
Any clues as to when the ride will actually open?
I had popped up the park after a personal invite by the new GM, Liam. It was a chance to catch up with a friend and also talk all things PWH past present and future and also everything unofficial.....
I was allowed a exclusive tour of the new coaster which still has construction boards all around the site and it was great to see it so close and personal, I asked permission to take some photographs partly for my own personal collection yet as agreed also to share here. I was also very lucky to see some of the cars in the workshop and take a good trip down memory lane whilst in there. I am such a anorak !!!
The ride is coming on great guys and it really is being done to such a high level - it will make it a very tight good ride !!
Stay tuned for launch date......... its coming !!!

I don't post on here very often and don't live in the area now. However I like to come on here and read what's happening with the park. This coaster looks great for a park the size of the hills. Looks like they going to some effort to get away from the mouse theme which is good. Please somebody post off and on ride videos once it's up and running! Thanks for the updates guys, it keeps an ex Norfolk boy like me in the loop now i'm living in the midlands! Gavin
