Finally got round to visiting the park yesterday (4th September) on what was really the final day of the "Summer Season" (Before the park only opens weekends until the end of September) - Arrived at about 10:30 to a reasonably empty car park, which we always expected as for many it was Back to School day. Headed straight to Wipeout, which was being held as there were only a couple of riders actually on the ride, so we walked straight on, nice to see all seats apart from 2 (which were chained/cable tied shut) in use. Then on over to the Jolly Rodger, which once again we walked straight on to.
It was then time to ride Hob's Pit, was looking forward to it, but I am awful at this type of ride, so was very temperamental about riding it at the same time. To the actors working the ride, they are fantastic at what they do. I had gone with family and friends to the park, but went off with friends, one of which chickened out after the "Miner" at the entrance to the ride made her jump so much she fell over in the queue line after she attempted to stare him out. There were only 5 other people in the queue line so we went through in no time at all (now down to just two of us!) We are both as bad as each other on rides like this - managed to get to the ride section, where we were picked on (over the two strangers in our group) throughout! - They could obviously tell! I was called Curly by an actress who was operating the ride who I think became slightly obsessed with my hair (as she remembered my hair the second ride about 4 hours later!) The other two actors working on the ride were also fantastic, including refusing to let us out of our cart at the end of the ride instead just surrounding me and slamming the door to it continuously. Fantastic ride all round but the actors really did make it and all worked so hard on the ride to really add to the experience. However they also know when to stop and calm down, my sister who is 12 went round with family and she wanted to go on Hobs Pit, however by the time she got to the ride she was almost in tears - one made her jump and she burst out crying, they all instantly stopped acting and assisted her out of the ride, ensuring her there was noone else to jump out before the exit at that point in time. Well Done to them!
Went and saw Sean Alexander, once again a fantastic large scale show, some great new illusions and a great show all round. We carried on round the park for the rest of the day, going on all the favourites as we do year in year out, was lovely to see how polite the staff were, all making an effort and from what I have heard it wasn't just because the day was quiet, as it seems like they have been polite, helpful and fun throughout the season! Before leaving the park we decided to get one last ride on Hob's Pit, this time with the friend who was too scared earlier and the actors, were still working hard.
Congratulations to PWH for another fantastic season it really does show the hard work that is being put in at the moment.
