Trip report fri 30th August 2013

Lots of cars entering as I walked down to meet my friend Lee who had come down via Norwich.

Fairly big que to get in and was good to see. The sun was shining and it was lovely and warm.

Headed straight for the pit...  It was slightly different in terms of the amount of actors who were in there compared to Truckers day.. There was more during the walk through bit and ride bay then there was last week and it was good as they really got in your face....no one was waiting at the end though today.... Saw lots of mums signing the disclaimers and a fair few people chicken out and walk back out again.

Very big que for Tidal wave and only one lane open.....if anything the park looked busier today than Sunday when there was two lanes open

Fireball - had my best EVER ride on this for many seasons - it was frantic - i even mentioned it to the operator and said that WAS a MUCH better cycle... ( the second ride later in the day was not as good as the first ) I sat and watched two more cycles after mine and they were both so different - with very little in full height.

Jolly had a small blip and it was very interesting to watch it in "test mode" - well I assume test mode as it went up very very slowly and came down very very slowly too.

First time on Enigma for a season or two - man the wait - not joking it must have been an hour or bit more - it was painful. Was interesting listening to people in the que saying "god it looks so old and is it worth the wait" Well yes we enjoyed the ride but I have to say it does look appalling - i so hope this gets some much needed TLC over winter from the peeling mix of three coats of paint blue brown and red to the tyres dumped down the side of the loading bay to the fact we have just one car it needs some much love. Please Santa....

TTT out of action and I checked upon leaving at the booths and there was no sign saying it was out of order, the flying copters and dry booth also still out.

Random but I will mention it why have all the toilet cubicles been knocked into like smaller ones or doubled up even ? very odd...

Dinner was from main street this time - lees fish and chips were very nice and my burger was quite nice too. Felt for the staff as it was busy and they were very hot - i remember working in there well it is hard work in there but it has changed a lot since i once walked those tiles..

Seans show was brilliant although there was a technical fault at the start and with one of his parts it all seemed to go down well. For me the best ones are the time and space one and the final one too - cant figure out where he gets out !!  LOL

Rear seats of wipeout open - just two closed off and we got right at the back !! I said to Lee "wow you can see the sandbank at Scroby and he was like "sod that" LOL !!! Pre recorded beach fm, tape playing - it wasn't on Sunday

Also today for the first time and with thanks to Ben we took part in the LL _ it was amazing to see how big it actually is under the castle - it was lovely and cool and we had the run of the place it was mad !!! We both enjoyed our game. Do not know how I won but I did with 259 points !! I had the worst type of footwear on as I was wearing flip flops so I could be heard all over !! It really will be a freaky place when the Halloween week kicks in...great place for a scare maze...but I certainly don't think that there will be any lazer guns in use.....

Big wait times for Rattlesnake and both ends of chairlift. There was also a Rolf Harris lookalike on park - i kid you not there was - I even had to take a photo !!

Think this area despite it very busy could benefit from music being played down here

Only saw Woody once - did not see Ronnie or Clarence today or Truckers day in fact.

Couple of niggles "fireball" and "wizzy dizzy" both still in use on same ride - laser entrance pointing you left as you come over bridge when you can walk straight forward, I think maybe a sign needed to show there is still a train station by fireball/rear of go karts and the random sign in the flying fish saying it wasn't open today after the unit closes - odd. I have noticed this before but failed to report it

Included in the photos is the look a like and a random picture of what is now the staff area where years ago that was one of the last places that Mike Wallis had the Punch and Judy stand before that there use to be the pottery area where you could make your own pottery

We left around 5.30pm and the place was still very very busy and the car park was full - It has to be said with the sun as hot as it was and the crowds as busy as they were a day out at PWH is MUCH MUCH a fuller day out than when it is quiet or plop weather - a MUCH fuller day with a good atmosphere even for me at 30 years old and Lee at 34.

** With much thanks to Ben for today **

Ronnie or Clarence done a runner already?
I didn't realise Lazer game was under the castle... lol Such a pity this isn't more popular.
Hears a question.. Fireball or Wizzy Dizzy.. which is the better name?

Some of those odd patches of paint on Enigma was probably me, I had a little list of repairs that needed touching in with paint, i'll admit I missed one as it was out of reach and didn't get a ladder in time before I was terminated from site.

Pictures behind the trees.. I thought they were removed for refurbishment? Wonder if this is still on the cards.
