So what do you think will be the surprise addition next season.

A) Improvements to theming around the park

B) New flat ride

C) An off the shelf coaster

D) A major new area of the park developed with a specific theme

E) A consolidation season - no additions

F) A few minor flat rides for children

G) A bespoke coaster

H) A new large scale show involving the 3 new reunited characters

I) retro rides - salvaged and renovated

I suppose it could be all or none of the above. Who's have thought they did what they did to Fairytale ride, and what an amazing job they did too!

I know the season has only just begun but i know Ben and the people behind the scenes will be thinking ahead so why don't we!

Discuss! excited

I don't think there will be any major new additions in 2014 - hopefully a refresh of some things like a wipeout paint would be nice..in the meantime we have so many things that need sorting and this list really is my usual moans but.....

** Fireball needs sorting

** Pirate Ship needs sorting

** Wipeout needs sorting

** TTT needs sorting

** TOTC needs sorting

** Enigma refurb happens

True and im sure at least one or two off that list will be achieved. However none of the above are good for marketing to your average customer.

I'd like to see an off the shelf coaster. But will it be in addition or a replacement for something like SITG. Hopefully the former. I can't wait to see what the park have planned...if anything!

We all know Enigma is being fixed for next year.. possible a bigger job that first thought if their putting a roof over it.
I'm sure Hobs will improve, a couple of upgrades added why the ride is still hot stuff.
And talk of the death slide returning.
I think the drop tower will be themed.

Other than that I doubt anything else happening just a few improvements, a year or gardening and painting, and repairing.
But if the Full Enigma project gets the green light I think that alone would be the headline at next years season.

Apparently Fireball doesn't need fixing.. there's also the possibility of TTT being dumped if it keep messing up.

But the list of things that also need doing is endless.
Some rides need re-locating.
Snake in the Grass needs a make over, mainly the roof.
Tales of the coast is rotten, but we know this will be done.. apparently they have ideas.
Mini train need another carriage, i'm told it's getting smaller every year.
Plus the amount of 'dead' space in the park, opposite the lake, next to SITG, by the side of the Wave Breaker and I think theirs a spot next to TTT. If only money was no object !!! :P

But they're getting on with it, been amazed of the improvements over the past two years.
There's always going to be something that needs doing.

I visited the park today and myself and Ben stood and watched an entire Fireball cycle together... I can confirm (having watched it really carefully from a good vantage point) that on at least a couple of the swings it DID swing higher than the 90 degree point.

Then the cycle must have changed since the 30th birthday then Matt ??? .... Did it reach the height shown in the photo of when we first had it ??

Possibly not... I think the cycle they use, rather than a mechanical issue, is the reason. As it reached the over 90 degree point it began to slow before speeding up again.

It went over 90' when I visited earlier in the month, but it was still waaaay off the 120' it should reach.

For next year, something needs to be done with the Dodgems (ie, scrap them) and SITG. Plus, please stick a bloody ride on the old Hungry Bears site.

And next to it. Big enough for two, or something big.

Some of the elements look quite nice, like going back over the top of the loop. I suppose to find out how good it is you have to ride it though.  smile

I want a new atleast semi-thrilling coaster, maybe something with 1 inversion or spinning or a thrilling flat ride... or both! Haha!

I wonder !

Do you think PWH should keep developing bespoke designs like Hobs Pit or choose something off the shelf?

I agree that a nice quality theme park permanent model thrill flat would be nice. A screaming swing would be great IMO but the noise of them wouldn't go down too well!

I'm sure they could but there's a massive cost in it.

What is really needed is an inverting flat ride, something that the park used to have multiple of but now lacks, but it needs to be fast flipping a la booster rather than robotic turning a la Evolution, I would not be happy with an evolution so please Pleasurewood, don't go there! I guess a booster is too tall though and has crappy throughput, that's the problem.

There are some great ideas on the table for next year. Some of them will definitely happen, others will depend on how many visitors we end up by year end. :)

that looks like it doesn't need too much space either

by noise do you mean the people on the ride or the actual ride mechanism, etc?

Screaming Swings are immensely thrilling rides, they get up to speed very quickly but they use 2 massive pneumatic cylinders that make an incredibly loud whoosh type noise. Wouldn't go down too well with the neighbours. I've been on the one at Thorpe and I must say its one of my favourite flats.

They also cost a lot to buy and maintain, so I'd hope PWH would avoid them (as much as I do like them).

A Booster is a good idea, they're very impressive looking rides, although they can be found and pretty much every fair ground in the Country.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Zamperla Air Race...... perfect for little PWH.

I would assume a Zamperla would also be a reasonable cost when compared to some of the other makes out there. Air Race does look the part so it would excellent to see.
