The new-look Clarence and Ronnie

For those who didn't get a chance to visit Pleasurewood Hills on Sunday for the Birthday celebration, I present to you Ronnie the Raccoon and Clarence the Cat... These photos have been provided to Unofficial Pleasurewood by the park and were originally taken for design development purposes.

These costumes are fantastic. Without sounding odd they also feel really nice too; really soft and fluffy.

They do look great. And it's great to here Woody will be back it his old outfit. If it ain't broken don't fix it. Pleasurewood are doing some great stuff at the moment. A little museum would be great, I'm sure you must have a little room somewhere, Disneyworld has some old stuff on display from when it opened, people love history and reminiscing on their childhood. Where has all the Fairytale characters gone. I love the Three bears and the Disney rip off Gepetto and Pinnochio. I hope they took photos before they ripped it out.

woodys fairytale land

woods fairytale land

Unfortunately they cheap arcade machines make them a few quid. Well they seem to be listening to the public at the moment. Maybe they have plans for it or maybe its all on the bonfire already. A friend of mine worked at the park for a few years and said that a lot of props from shows and attractions were stored under the castle and were removed and dumped. Its bizarre they do this as even places with tons of money like DisneyWorld never throw props or scenery they put it into storage just in case they can reuse it.

lol, I was surprised to here there was no Bloody on Sunday.
I personally like to preserve things and document them.. I guess most people don't care either way.
It's great there is some footage of the Storybook ride on youtube.

If they haven't got any rooms they can still build one, I mean there is a lot of un-used land in the park doing to waste. :P

Those Woody pictures are awesome, but to be far they weren't that well hidden, well maybe the trees weren't that big in 2008 lol

They were on the side of the story book ride.
There's some pics somewhere on the forum.

Unfortunately the originals are all but gone. After so long not being used (even if they had been stored correctly and looked after), I personally wouldn't have wanted to go near them stinky things...ewwww! - and what would have the kids of 'today' of said - I think they expect more in a character skin then we all did when were kids.

A foot here, a hand there - All past refurbishment. We only had Ronnie's old head (battered and beyond repair) to go on. We even had to source video to get a snap shot of what Clarence looked like from behind.

I'm hoping to get Woody back in his retro outfit for next year. :)

Really needs to be a PHW museum on the park to put all the old, battered, un-used stuff on display for the guests.
Ronnie's old head, bits and bobs from the story book, other goodies lurking about.

I'm not sure it would be of interest to anyone Bubbles. It's be interesting to see from a enthusiasts POV but not as an attraction.

I like looking at the history of places, you don't have to be an enthusiasts of anything to enjoy a bit of local history.
Gotta be better than having Arcade Machines.

And I want that Pinnochio!!!!!!!!! (seriously)
Although I doubt id be able to afford it if they were willing to sell it.

Its great they have Hobs Pit there now, but its a shame to get ride of the Fairytale Land. Couldn't they put in in somewhere so you could just walk round and see it!

One of the things I suggested was to dump the arcade machines and put them in their for people to walk around. (better than video games)

Or re-theme the Tales of the Coast, make an elaborate fairytale land and stick them in there.

I agree that a little archive would be interesting but as Clarence says the arcades make a few bob. I hate arcades in theme parks myself but they do have a market.

Yeah I noticed a few old bits and bobs around the place when I worked 'behind the scenes'
Do people go to a theme park and play arcade machines theses days? To me their a cheap seaside attraction lol.

Well I went in there last week a there was no one playing on them, but I'm sure they are used. I'm sure they have a few rooms somewhere that are not used anymore. Its just a shame that so much of the history of the park has been lost and dare I say pilfered over the years. If it wasn't for the maps and leaflets on this website would there have been much of those history boards on display. A Mr Blobby costume used at the park sold on ebay a few years ago for about £300. I blame it on the Hadden era!

Ben found some old Woody theming hidden away behind some trees that he is looking to restore. Little things like that are really good to keep the history alive.

What's everyone's opinion on the mp3 download of Birthday Parade. Listening today, it really is top quality and nothing cheaply thrown together.

Is the the same track played on the day to the dance? I haven't downloaded it yet as I need to download straight to my phone and CD baby says I need a desktop to listen. I'll get it when the iTunes version comes out.

If it's the same track though then it is really well produced and great idea releasing it for sale too. I'm not sure the park has enough just yet for a park soundtrack but this is a great start :)

iTunes and Google Play now stock the track.

On a separate note, hope you like the new artwork for the characters. This is one style we'll be pushing throughout the Summer aimed predominantly at younger kids. :)

The artwork is really catchy and certainly captures the younger vibe really well, just out of interest who comes up with this artwork?

Hi Josh. Glad you like it. We actually worked with a member from this forum in creating these. He's a graphic designer and illustrator - He was actually commissioned to design one of Norwich's Go-Go Gorilla's too. :)
