Trip Report 29/3/13

Not posted in ages, but why not with a trip report.

Tales of the Coast - Nothing been done with this at all.  It was all out of synch, no character movement, and seemed a bit on the slow side compared to normal.  Did appear to gain an extra fire extinguisher on last year.

Enigma - went on early on, was making a constant squeaking sound and seemed to be some issues with the brakes - stopped not far from the finish and maintenance had to release the brakes.  Get the impression there isn't a lot of life left in it.  Interestingly though, on the gates there was still a "maintenance until further notice" sign, I don't know if that was something left from when it was closed for ages last year.

Moby Dick - not finished due to the weather.

Jolly Roger - still using the tacky looking queue that they had last year sadly.

Pirate Ship - new queue system, actually didn't look too bad.  Not covered anymore though.

Teacup ride - definitely a small travelling version.  Purely aimed at kids, tried to go on it but declined as said if you were over 1.4m you could only go on with children

Small train - broke down while on the ride roughly half way around although up and running by later on.

Peddalos - didn't look like they had dredged the lake.  Saw the peddalos themselves in the maintenance corner near fireball, I suspect they are at least a post Easter thing.

Food - I noticed that menus had got slightly smaller.  Noodles dropped from the menu at Merry Mariner (not that that was any loss, as they were disgusting when I had them last year).  I think slight price increases on last year.  Railway tea room also appeared to have lost a few things from the menu (as was all taped over).

Shop near wipeout - still has loads of irrelevant stuff in it.  If anything less merchandise than before, and no woody bears were in.  They did have some old school looking mouse mats for 50p each which were pretty good though.

Hobs Pit - definitely going over where FFT was - tried to have a snoop but couldn't really see anything definitive or useful.

Other: Still random bits of halloween stuff loafing around in a few places (small train, tales of the coast) as with first day in previous season.

Bumper cars - smelt a bit like burning at points because they needed to clean the track.  I don't recall that ever being done (and it would have easily cleaned I suspect with a bit of effort).

Sean Alexander - I think there was a slight technical issue with the end trick with the fire element to it, but still all well put together and no doubt will get more slick as the season progresses.  A decent mix of new stuff and some of the older tricks.

Some random decking also in place not far from fireball where a food booth used to be that sold ice cream.  No idea what for though.

The Reason there is still random stuff in the shop is due to the fact that they want to get rid of the old stuff before they put new stuff in, and Hobs Pit will have new merchandise.

They had Yankee Candles in there though for example.  Which they have not had before by my recollections.  Not the sort of thing you think of when you think theme park shop!  Layout looked good though.

Yeah, it's all left over, but they are trying, Though didn't realise you were in the park today.

It's a shame that Tales of the Coast is left in such a poor state. I know they are sorting things around the park, but TotC is a right shambles.

I mentioned the Audio on TOTC to Ben, and he said he would look into it, and apparently the Ride-ops said mantinence were going to fix it so that it would be working tomorrow.

Is the Woody figure still near the entrance, by the miniature railway?
