If someone had posted "r u gettin KFC?" then I would have ignored it, but there's something about the way they wrote "When is the KFC going be in the park".
Add that to the fact that the Flying Fish restaurant is having work done on the exterior....
Maybe it would over shadow other offerings on park. For example PWH rent a space to KFC and make X amount of money through the tenancy agreement. However, this franchise pulls people away from buying the park's own offerings therefore losing profits in other areas.
It's swings and roundabouts really, as it's also a guaranteed income for the park. I would imagine that they could get more money from leasing the space than they would from running the place themselves. Plus, there's a lot less hassle.
But in saying that, when parks open up named restaurants, aren't they franchised? So the actual parks owns the restaurant anyway, and just pays a certain amount to the actual company (KFC etc)?
True true. I suppose it is a case of suck it and see, maybe they should give it a go for a couple of seasons. Or simply improve there own offerings which I know get a very bad rap on the reviews.
Busy poster tonight Jo. It's Good to have loads of activity. I agree that food quality these days is a big selling point, especially due to recent events. However, the cost is so important and I think it's getting the balance right. Too cheap and the quality is poor and people complain, great quality then people complain about price. That being said I think people would rather pay a little more for better quality. Food is a great source of revenue for parks as margins are often good. I just could understand that on a very hit August day last year the ice cream stand outside Sea Likn was shut most the day and when it did open it wasn't selling drinks! There's some real simple stuff that needs addressing in that respect around the park.
haha yes I have posted a bit, but theres loads of interesting topics. A link with a well known local chef would be great, but I agree costs can be important, but i guess finidn the balance is the main ting. Food has been in the limelight a lot in the media recently too.
With the simple stuff, I guess you need someone walking around on a busy day and noting complaints being said - sometimes simple things can get overlooked
