This thread is for posting ideas of what rides you think PWH could really do with. Being serious an all, dont want know Oblivion's or Stealth's mentioned!
Anyway, in my opinion, one of them Zamperla Air Race's have got PWH name written all over it!
One of them would literally be ideal for PWH (by watching the vid, it looks like they have a low height restriction) - and it would be a UK first. Zamperla's aren't too expensive either...
If they own the ride then they can repaint them. Some parks will lease rides from other parks or companies so then they wouldn't be able to change them without permission.
If PWH have plans for a coaster on the Fireball site then there are a whole host of compact models that would fit the bill. As Martyn has said on numerous occasions s little kiddy coaster is a must for the park.
To be honest, they're not that bad. Ok, I haven't been on one THAT big, but still, the two I've been on are both 200ft tall. I was proper nervous at first, but as soon as you get over that, it's fine, and quite boring. Nice views though ;)
But again, like the Air Race, this is the kind of ride that people like to watch in awe (as you just proved). Plus, we know that planning permission shouldn't be a problem (see drop tower application) and there's less screams on these, as people are too scared to even move!
Stick a Star Flyer on the site of the old Cine 180 (now that aeroplane ride thing) and it would just be perfect.
I was bricking it on my first ever go on the Spring Flyer at Plopsaland de Panne. Didn't help when it broke down 1/3 up, then we had to get off and come back later. The chains on them are exceptionally thin, too. Thinner than the chains you see on standard Waveswingers!
Here's a couple of my photos:
Seeing this when queuing up made me feel SO much better:
That looks horrendous, Martyn! I've always wondered if height restrictions play a big part in Pleasurewood's developments - I know they had permission for a larger drop tower, but I wonder if they've ever considered a substantial investment (perhaps a new off-the-shelf coaster) that is reasonably big but have been put off the idea by the idea of planning permission.
Back in 2003/4 they were going to install two Vekoma coasters if I remember, but the Hadden family leaving the park closed the deal, I do believe.
Yes after a bit if digging and a nice email from Terry Nunn he explained that the park had ordered two Vekoma family coasters but you're right the plans were scrapped with the change in ownership.
does the Spring Flyer spin on the way to the top and down, or start spinning when it reaches the top and then stops at the top?
Would the Vekoma family coasters have been a good move and what version would PWH have gone for? (picture of Catherine zeta Jones on one on the main website ha)
