What do modern youngsters think of the Park?

Hi all,

I have been a member here for a while and have a fond memoryof the park, my grumble is now I have teenage daughters and when considering days out Pleasurewood dont get a look in. I refuse to post their comments but I can see their points. So instead we have bought merlin passes (£90 each bargin, for premier). also as a teacher I have organised many trips here and by lunchtime they are bored solid (but they do have the time to do all the  rides). now I am considering trips for this year comments from pupils are very anti pleasure wood. and they would rather sit on a coach for 2 hours then que for decent rides.

or is this just my experience?

^If I could get to merlin attractions more often e.g Alton Towers, I would buy a MAP let's put it that way

I think its a common opinion among the yoof of today. (Jeez, that used to be me!)

But I understand why. Only Wipeout and the JR are proper job thrill experiences, and ultimately this is what most teenages want from a theme park. Those two rides will not keep anybody entertained for more than an hour tops.

Is it not proven that teenages are the big spenders at Theme Parks? Certainly begs the question as to why they continues to bring in junior rides (most of which get in for nothing...) and not at least one more quality re-rideable thrill attraction.

True blue, blue brothers! I know a few families with young kids (under 10) and they love Pleasurewood Hills but for the older kids there isn't a great amount to entice them to the park. I mean why would they come when Merlin parks are advertising massive multi-inversion thrill machines. PWH is a lovely little park but I think it needs a couple of crowd pullers and unfortunately they have to be in the form of a rollercoaster which don't come cheap.

It has definitely become more of a family park over the years, and dare I say it, but it looks like they want it to be more of a 'kids' park with the crazy amount of kids rides they're bringing in.

To be a family park, you need to cater for everyone, and with only 3 thrill rides at the park, it's clear where they are lacking. This was evident during my visit last year, when Wipeout, Jolly Roger and Fireball had by far the biggest queues in the park.

They need to stop bringing in pointless kids rides (Teacups) and bring something half decent in, like a TopScan, S&S Space Shot, or maybe a Booster?

If they need to bring in travelling rides for the short term, then that's fine, just bring in more thrill rides.

PWH is worth a visit once a year. The MAP is great value for money, before I had my daughter I had one and visited parks all the time as well as the other Merlin attractions. It's tremendous value for money if you can use it to the max like I did.

When the MAP was £80, I considered it value for money, but not anymore.

Firstly BOGOF's (that are everywhere) already half the entry fee. Plus how much does it cost in petrol for us lot to get either of the 4 parks? A round trip to either has got to be around £40-50. And lets face it, you only end up going more often to make sure you get value out of it.

Macbeth.......How did you get the premier for 90 quid ? even in the current sale they are not that cheap ??? My MAP renewal is comeing in at £144 or £121 in the sale price ( I admit I only paid £70 for my premier pass last year but that was a friend in high places !! )

Thorpe is great and less than 3 hours away if roads clear - alton is a treck really

having had couple of season tickets, last year i didnt have one but i must say tbh i didnt really miss it xD but i kinda did aswell if that makes sense :S

when i go we can normally get all the rides in and all the shows aswelll (2 parrot shows, 2 castle theatre and 3 sealion), debating whether to get one this year, would like too, have the money for one, so thats not an issue but its whether i would use it! In my opinion Jolly Roger, Sealion Show, Parrot Show, Sean Alexander and (Wipeout (not very thrilling haha :P)) are the only decent attractions on the park!!

Whenever i go to pwh, atm im glad to get out of the park now as alot of the rides are dull, tacky and kinda boring :/ , i mainly go when friends want too and family are down from London / Aylesbury way, In my opinion Jolly Roger is the only decent ride that gets my adrenaline going, yet it look horrible as its just been plonked there!!

PWH YOU NEED ANOTHER THRILL RIDE!!!! Even if its a fairground one!! Make it look half decent, tidy it up, pernament Q lane, fits in with the park, just please stop buying the kids rides!!

Buying a family pass can be done as long as no more than 3 of the people are over 12. So three adults can get together and go as a 'family' to get premium for £90pp.

You don't have to be together either as the passes given out are separate ones.

Here's an Interesting fact, If I were to buy one with 2 other Adults as a Family for a Standard Pass, it would cost me less than a PWH Season Ticket...

Locals may think it's good fun, however where I'm from, Thorpe Park is a similar distance away, so those who have experienced Thorpe generally prefer there, although many people I know still make a trip to Pleasurewood just for a laugh, Wipeout is still a major factor, so I hope Pleasurewood continue adding thrill rides, then many people will consider visiting Pleasurewood than Thorpe.
