Twinlakes Report

In August last year, we visited Twin Lakes. Took my neice with me, just in case ;)

It's an odd little place. It's full of the quirky pay-to-play type attractions you'd find at most parks, you just dont pay for them here!

And there's 2 creds to be had!

This slide thing wasn't anywhere near as fun as it looked...

The old Buffalo coaster from American Adventur was a lot better than I remember! I actually quite enjoyed it...

I had never bothered to pay for these in other parks, so I thought I might as well give them a go here. Again, not as fun as you may think. More frustrating than anything.

This mini water park thing was new for 2012, I think. No restrictions for adults either! It's the little things like this, that DONT cost extra, that make this park fantastic for kids (and adults). There really is SO much for kids to do here, and the standard entry fee isn't that high either.

They even have a little Log Flume. Very much unpainted, and basic, but pretty wet!

Mercurys Mini Coaster... that's one weird name for a kiddy cred.

The park is also home to two massive sheds, full of... stuff!

Shed one:

This was fab, made fabber by being indoors, where they literally cut holes in the floors. Quite cool going up, going past each floor!

Omg, Shed One is also home to this massive kids play area, with no restrictions for adults...

There was like 3 vetical slides and just all sort of fun stuff to piss about on. I got lost (and stuck...) so many times, trying to find my niece, of course...

They also have quite a big farm area, and they even do pig racing on certain dates!haha

Also, found it a bit odd that they were actually advertising a lot of their animals for sale...

Guineas <3

Onto massive Shed Two:

So, I was kind of impressed with the park. It was quirky, and had a lot of fun stuff to do, so I was looking forward to going into this shed. According to the map, it house two dark rides!

As you can see, the first dark ride isnt't the best. Calling it a dark ride is probably a stretch too far as well. Possibly one of the worst rides I have ever come across!

Dark ride 2, The Ghost Train:

Again, utter ****e. The layout literally was that little oval, full of crap you buy from Asda for Halloween. I was disappointed to say the least..

Another shed, another drop tower. Also had one of them Berry Bish Bash style play areas in here. Again, it's something different that kids love!

Mini Horse ride thing which was nicely presented.

The park also had MANY 'play parks' dotted around. Again, they were all different though, all differently themed with differet stuff for kids to mess about on.

Weirdly, they seem to do a pretty scary Halloween event here, and I think it's for adults only. Strange for a kids park.

Anyway, that's it. What a park! It has to be the ultimate kids park in the UK? There were so many things to do, we still didn't do everything. There was a big train ride, some water boat things and even a live action horror maze, which is open all year (again, very random for a kids park)

I loved the place, and my niece loved it even more. It is so quirky and full of fun stuff to do. The two 'dark' rides in the that shed let it down for me, but I guess you cant have everything.

I'd happily return if they gained a new cred!

I think you may have enjoyed that play area more than your niece.

Too damn right! When I was a little kid, my two favourite places on EARTH were Bedlams (up by Norwich Airport, now the Giant Pet Store) and Wallys Windmill in Gt Yarmouth! Andy will know what I'm on about!

Me: (On seeing that dry ski/dingy slide pic)

"Thats looks sweet"

Martyn:

"This slide thing wasn't anywhere near as fun as it looked..."

Me:

"Oh :("

Well it amused me.

^And yeah Wally's was awesome, despite the stench of sweaty feet and BO!

Haha I thought the same andy! Looks like a nice little park and that Pony Rail does look nice especially compared to PWH's effort.
