Hyde Park Winter Wonderland

Anyone on here been to the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland?

If you haven't, you should. Its pretty special (by British standards), and it's possibly the closest thing we'll ever get to an Oktoberfest style event.

A lot of the rides come over from the European fair circuit, and no doubt one day we will see something big like Olympia Looping/Alpina Bahn come over (could even be this year ;) ).

There hasn't been any real outstanding rides as of yet, but its still a very neat place, and the European fair rides are pretty funky, especially the Fun Houses, Ghost Trains, and even the Pirates Adventure dark ride!

I'll be heading down again for the second year in a row, and I have my fingers crossed that the rumoured 'big' coaster shows up!

The build up has begun on the UK's best fair!

Check out the daily updates HERE to see just how much effort is put into this event.

Cant wait!

Watching from afar! That Wild Mouuse XXL looks cool.

Would love to go to this, but it simply costs way too much per ride. London town and all that.....

^ Trust me, it's worth going, even you don't go on much. It's the closest thing we'll ever get to an Oktoberfest style event!

If this is one of the awsome little Moser towers, ITit'll probably be better than Power Tower!

That Starflyer is goinb HUGE! Idividual seating will probably add an extra edge to it as well....

I must admit its looks mighty impressive - some operation!

Out of the question this year, but I think I'll look into it for next year. The kids will love it.

Thanks for posting the pic, BTW!

Yeah, I've never followed the build up like I have this year, but if you look at the pics on the links I post, you'll see all the pics this guy takes (like 100 each day), and it's amazing just how much effort goes into getting all this put together. There's so much actual building work going on which seems crazy as its only a 6 week event.

I can understand why the rides are so expensive now. Still will only go on a few though... might have to sell the car otherwise...

Pirates Adventure is back.

Apparently, Wilde Maus XXL has some kind of fun house/walk through thing in the queue line...
