The Hills Have Eyes 2012

The poster is cool and the name is still a great name for the event in my opinion. Having never been before I can't truly comment but I remember reading about organisation being poor last year along with lighting and sound. I'd love to see the LL used as a scare maze - it's crying out for it so Laurence if you're reading, get down Tesco, buy some costumes and props and get going with it! The park already has its own Halloween story so that can easily be used for a maze!

So what are we all hoping for from Halloween this year? I'm tempted to pop down during it as I haven't been all season!

Just hope there is more organisation this year, espically if they are going to boost the largest firework display in EA.

A scare maze would be cool, possibily under the castle... at no extra charge of course.

Pumpkins..... loads of pumpkins.

Nice poster, I quite like it.

And yeah, a scare maze is a must really. PWH must be the only park in the country that doesn't have a scare maze at Halloween! Even Twinlakes does, and thats a little kids park!

Yes saw this on their website some weeks ago, did post it somewhere. I just hope that the rides run longer in the dark...so bad last year hanging around waiting for the bangs.... The display was very good last year and the year before that so I see no reason why it wont be as good and if it is as busy as last year then it will be super. Fingers crossed for the weather

Yeah! I'm trying to sort some halloween bits out. The design and everything has been done ^^ obviously! So it's just story etc that needs to be planned. Unfortunately, we won't be arranging this until Oct 1st at the earliest so I will keep you updated. And yes, I will put it to the guys to make the labyrinth a scare maze!

^ Brilliant!

But please, do not take mrbrightside's advice, steer well clear of supermarkets when purchasing some theming! biggrin

I was being slightly tongue in cheek when I suggested Tesco ;)

I'm sure the LL can be converted fairly cheaply though... To take a leaf from Alton Towers' book - strobe mazes seem to work well in the context of scares - plus it also means that props can be few and far between... Hire some strobes, costume up some staff and put some black drapes/curtains over the glow in the dark elements of the LL that don't want to be seen and you have a strobe maze that can be used to create a scary and claustrophobic atmosphere.

I would have thought so, I've never known/heard of them not having shows on certain dates... why do you ask?

Yeah the shows will be on on the last day. They might change times though depending on fireworks etc at the end of the day so best to check the show boards on the day.

Such pessimism from Matthew.

The usual decorations and hundreds and hundreds of pumpkins.. Firework night will be bringing the biggest bang that we've had at Halloween for a long long time! (Illusive..... No more hints! haha)

Your getting rid of the rattlesnake end of the park in a big explosion to make way for a caravan park? xD

I may be going... lets hope the rides are lit up and stay open longer as it will be darker for longer this year as the clocks go back a week before the park shuts....

I get the feeling that may well be something to do with 2013.... ;)

No we won't be blowing anything up... very counter productive! (Other than fireworks of course... but they're intended to be exploded so that's okay!)

I'll never forget when Thorpe Park named their big firework event "BLOW SH!T UP!" laughing

Nice advert.

I hope they're going to offer a really good return discount to anyone that visits 27th-3rd, so the park can be rammed for the final day.

In fact, even offering free tickets to return on the 4th would be a bonus for the park. No one is ever likely to visit twice in one week, so getting peeps to come back, and spend money in the park on the final must only be a good thing!

i hope it is as busy as last year on the last day - weather permitting - it will be much darker this year so i hope the lighting is improved all round and there is not the 30 min or so jams to leave !!!
