Ride Safety

Just remembered about this! the last time i was at the hills we managed to get our little cousin on SITG for the first time. She lasted until just before we left the station. The safety bars had alreddy come down and been cheaked but she still managed to slide from underneath the bar and run off the ride. This shows a serious problem in the rides safety, if she could do it there there's no reason why any young child can't get out of the train in the lift hill and potentially seriously injure themselves!

Also when riding SITG during a ride curcuit a screw fell out of the carrige in front into my lap! this ride is unsafe and realy does need to be sorted out or go!

There is nothing un-safe about it at all, most people can climb out of lap bar restraints, but the majority of people use their brain, and stay seated. Why would you want to get out mid ride?

This is a touchy subject I know, but I've never understood what that girl was upto on Hydro at Oakwood. If you're scared of the ride, what is getting out, and jumping to your death going to achieve?

One would hope that an Adult accompanying a small child (as per restrictions on SITG) would have the sense to look after them.......

Ultimately, like Martyn says people could get out of most lap bars if they were intent on doing so - for whatever reason. We don't want a situation where even lesser rides like SITG have to be fitted with OSRs.

True, not sure about the bolt falling into your carriage though. Did you alert a member of staff. That reminds me of the serious accident at a Disney park a long time ago now where guests could hear loose bolts and alerted the staff who decided to send it round one more time, which is when it derailed and there were fatalities. I can't remember how accurately I have retold that but it's something like that.

As for the first situation, it is just common sense. A child small enough to slip under the bars to escape should be accompanied by an adult who would not let them do it mid ride.

There were several bots already missing, so I decided not to alert anyone! Reminds me I've still go it somewhere!

If there were already several missing, why on Earth would you not tell someone?

As Martyn said, lap bars such as the ones on these kind of rides are escapable with effort, but anyone with sense would not even attempt to do such a thing!

SITG has always been quite a rattley old coaster to be honest.
