Old Park Maps : Can you help?

One of the most visited parts of Unofficial Pleasurewood is the "Maps and Leaflets" section. With a large number of leaflets from over the years, it makes for interesting reading as you can literally see the park grow!

However, there are a number of maps missing which I have been unable to source... this is where you come in!

Do you have any old Pleasurewood Hills park maps buried in your basement or hiding in your loft? If you do, I'd love to hear from you!

Post a message below, private message me or email unofficialpleasurewood@hotmail.co.uk if you can help! The site is currently missing maps from the following years:

1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1989, 2004, 2005, 2006.

I use to have them all from the year they turned 10 years old yet quite sure I recycled them few years back. hmmm.

Would the park themselves help out here ?

Have you got access to a scanner by any chance? I'd really like to add them to the site if it's possible!

Check out the Map from 2001: http://www.unofficialpleasurewood.co.uk/pleasurewood_hills_2001_map.jpg

There are loads of rides with labels but no actual image associated with them! A bit lazy really. Also note the "Dinosaur Lake"...

Eh, Matt, are you changing that list of years? I could have sworn you said you needed 2001 and 2002. Also, 1999 wasn't on there before either?!

I have found the 1999 map !! Must have kept them as that was the year I started there.....both versions of the leaflet I have scanned in the tourist information centres one and the one you got as you came into the park !!!!!

Will scan in yet also email Matt with them so they can be uploaded

Love the 1999 leaflet that shows the Tidalwave yet has Log flume above it !! And the awful picture of Woody from the then sister park in oakwood.....

Also interesting on the different things on both of the leaflets sky screamer in two different places, super trooper or paratrooper, clown slide and no clown slide, death slide and no death slide, waltzer in two different places, megadance or flashdance , chairs ride on one canyon raft on other, hungry bears on one not the other, fun factory on one not the other, honda bikes in two different places, lots of kiddies rides where go karts are now - on one leaflet not the other .. also Mr Blobby, Ronnie and Woody feature still in 1999 map yet no Clarence ? One final thing to point out is the brilliant litter sucking machine they use to have at the end of Main Street where the donuts use to be, shame he went yet he is on the map as the white man next to Woody... remember it being there for some seasons and not working anymore

I also found a reciept from when I went in april 1997 and paid £7.95 to get in with £5 return vouchers issued

Have now found 2002, 2003, 1994, 1996 and 1998

The 2002 and 2003 are identical except the ride listing and events and calender bit, the 2003 leaflet features a onboard megaspin picture when the ride had gone at the end of the 2002 season and also these two seasons were the last we saw of the christmas stuff they did at the park. One further to thing to note is the size of the leaflets they were huge and the maps in the 2002 and 2003 leaflet were very poor and very out of date. 2002 shows waltzer as new yet as we know it was the original waltzer that was removed in 2000 I think ? 2003 shows octupus ride as new ? I do not remember this at all ??? and 2003 brings us  extreme... the actual ride which turned out to be Fireball was not in until may 2004 ( see my scan from the journal in news articles ) so I assume 2003 did not have a major new attraction

1996 shows us the tidalwave was new and there were less personal visits from Noel.

1998 was a crap leaflet which said the new ride was the "top spin" what was this to be again ? and it does appear this was the last leaflet to feature ronnie and clarence

1994 leaflet was brillaint and true pwh... the first year out of its american image , the last year for the Tempest and the eye in the sky was new as was the punch and judy show.

Yes, i remember this being on the leaflet and me rather excited....

I assumed it was going to be:

...or at least a similar machine. But of course a Top Spin never appeared.

Yes, they both have 99 on them. One was given as you came in, I think one must have been late 99. Matt can post the scans bigger when he checks through my emails and you can all see them bigger and better

Thanks very much Coolskin, I've just had a quick look though them all and can't wait to get them onto the site.

The new maps should appear in the "Maps and Leaflets" section this weekend.

Great to see that Matt has uploaded my scans, I have mailed you Matt to mention one scan missing from 2008 and I am now scanning in 2012 leaflet

So now we will have the 2012 leaflet on when Matt gets my email it leaves us with

83, 84, 85, 86, 89, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2010 with no leaflet or map info. I am wondering if the park direct could help, tourist authority too ? not sure.... We have done so well so far....

Thanks Matt for the kind regards on the homepage section of the main site. I really enjoyed scanning them all in and I am thrilled to see them all up. I hope many notice the front page section you have done so we can get the word spread on old leaflets and all enjoy the history
