New Website

So, been confirmed on Twitter that the new website will be up online soon!

The current website is by far the best site PWH have ever had, so if this new one is going to be better...wow.

The new website is hugely better! Much more in line with Thorpe Park... not to give too much away

Good to know. Although the current website was brilliant it was never updated with new photos of the rides and over time news updates etc made the site lose its slickness and wasn't as clean cut as when it first went online. The user comments were never updated. I hope the new site will be more interactive for visitors and be more up to date. I look forward to seeing it!

One thing I've always hated about the current site is a little sentance on a few of the page: "Woody says to book online"

Cringe!

This could be a good idea actually... if you could all give me 5 good points and 5 bad points about the current website, what would they be?

I'm actually struggling to think of anything I dont like about it.

Well, there's one thing which you may not be able to change.... the thrill rides... Engima, Timber Falls?! The park now has 3/4 solid thrill rides, so time for them two to go back to the family catergory?

I simply hate the 'riders reviews'.

No need for comments like "Fireball is good cos it is", they add nothing to the site and quite often it likes like the park has made them up...? ;)

I like interactive park maps with a link to the ride when you click on it.
also add more rides in the Thrill and Family ride sections only about ten rides are listed and it makes the park seem like it has little to offer

Yes agreed, the comments are daft.

Please can you pass on Laurence the need for the Fireball programme to be changed to be the decent THRILL ride it once was......

Just to add, I really like the marketing poster for 'The Jolly Roger' so if the website design is of the same standard...

If i'm being honest, The new logo isn't great. It looks very "Cheap" and if you study it enough the outline of "hills" is overlapping Pleasurewood. It's just not friendly and most certainly didn't catch my eye in the local tourist booklet.

Saying that, that's my opinion, and I love Pleasurewood to bits, I can just express.

:) :)

I think that the front page of the new leaflet does not show from a distance that it is PWH, the new logo is hidden at the bottom and wont be visible to people in leaflet racks

Haven't seen any of the marketing brochures for this yet, so I'm unable to comment, but what I have seen so far seems good.

good points:

easy to navigate
easy to find ticket sales
easy to find the news
good advertisement
shows the park in a good way

bad points:
shows the park as having 10 rides...
puts thunderstruck down as thrill
not very clear show times
not kept up to date
day in the life of.... is not done regularly, maybe once every 3 months or something?

the show times are all up 2 date as the season go. and are clearly displayed at the end of each box of information about that particular show.

I would imagine the comment boxes wont last long tbh, they take a lot moderating by somone who will have to have the time to verify each comment!

They'll be very little monitoring on the reviews. With the social media we need to encourage discussion and debate about the rides, obviously if there's a valid complaint we would reply and if there's someone obviously trolling the page then they will be deleted. All other comments will remain.

Just to update everyone on here, the website is nearly finished.
We had a bit of a problem with our ticketing page because of FB changing Company Pages to the timeline format from 1st March (Compulsory by 30th March), and as our ticket purchasing system will now be available on FB as well as the website, it set us back a little.

But problems came up, they were overcome! So the website is looking like it will be ready at the end of this week!
