2012 Season

So, the 2011 season has just finished, but lets get the 2012 discussion underway already! Obviously nothings 100% confirmed really, but here's what we think will happen;

- Drop Tower
- Enterprise
- Pony Trek
- Kids drop tower
- Relocation or removal of Sky Hooks
- Refurb, new name and relocation of Thunderstruck
- New Show in Castle Theatre

Its going to be quite an exciting season in 2012, I'm looking forward to seeing the park filled up a bit!

I'll hazard a guess at the Woody's Flying Shool being relocated next to Wipeout, along with the kids Drop Tower, and either Thunderstruck or Enterprise going onto the old Cine180 site.

Wave Breaker refurb pretty much a dead cert too (as they have started doing it, well, ripping out the bit from the lane they didn't use this season anyway).

To be honest, thats probably an annual refurb, so I wouldn't look at that as something substantial.

Also, though I doubt its going to happen for next year, but we have the major refurb of Enigma too.

My 2012 predictions.....

* The bottom end of the park will be closed off leading to relocation or removal of SITG and WDS
* The chairlift will be removed
* Enterprise to go into the area by Fireball or Tidalwave
* Pony Trek ( well we know where that is going ! )
* Kids drop tower by Wipeout
* Laser labyrinth billed as one of the new 5 attractions
* Tidalwave refurb/sort out !!

I think they are really going to close in and sort some of the bad empty areas that we have around fireball, tidalwave and wipeout

Even if we don't get the drop tower I think we are still on for a bumper year. But to be honest the drop tower will be killer and NEEDS to come to the park.

Really? If you inculde the Enterprise, thats 5 new attractions (show, Enterprise, Drop Tower, mini drop tower, Pony Express).

But I do agree that if the Enterprise is happening, then it would probably go on the Fireball's site.

I dont think Fireball will move, I think the enterprise may go behind the fireball/sealion green bit of land.....

Yes I think laser will be billed as new to have it as new for a week in 2011 is pointless and there was NO signage for it in the park yesterday....

RE: 2012 : What we know so far

Isn't Enigma getting a major refurb aswell?

I'm not sure if we are going to get this drop tower soon...

I would imagine Enigma's refurb will be for 2013. They already have enough to do for next year as it is.

I think Laurence said something about the refurb probably not happening for 2012. Great if it could though.

I would like to see Tidal Wave running on two lanes - would make it some much more fun. I would also like to see it spruced up a bit, even just painting the horrible galvanised steel supports would make a vast improvement.

If Tidal Wave isn't refurbed for next year, it will be closed all of 2012.  They had already started on the refurb by ripping up the carpet for the lane not used all season so would be surprised if they didn't finish it for the new season.

The thing is, like I said before, replacing that surface isn't really a refurb, its just annual maintenance really.

Yeah but what he did say is the were ripping it up in the unused lane which could mean they are gonna get the other lane up and running.

Its not been un-used for that long, has it?

I suspect that even when it has been repaired, they'll still only use the one lane. I'd really like to see them adjust the slides, and add a new one. The three slides at LWV are good, one bumpy, one steep, and one long and twisty.

I dont think the second lane was used at all in 2011 unless someone can correct me ?

It is all about the staffing levels too and keeping them low it seems to try and keep cost down...

It appears that nothing much is happening at PWH at the moment. Do you think they will rush things together quickly. Maybe Laurence could give us some information about what is happening.
