Oh yeah that as well obviously but we know what that's all about - AT2012 is unknown what it is going to be, although speculation points at certain things.
I was messing about saying 4 towers, but the people at the show said "at least one". And its not just the theming, its all about illusions. I get the feeling it will be a similar ride experience to the Tower of Terror at the Disney Parks.
It looks great, but I do wish they'd hurry up and sort out the X-Sector!
Basically speculation points to ABC Rides using their Extremis type towers within this new dark ride for Alton. But it says it will be used as "part of a bigger dark ride experience" - so what else will be in there nobody rly knows... TowersTimes is having a field day with speculation :p
So for anyone who doesn't read Towers Times or haven't seen by other means the AT Scarefest map is pointing to the ride being called "Nemesis - What Lies Beneath". Awesome name for the ride in my opinion, if that is indeed the name :)
Josh, i ain't a big fan of thrills so thats thorpe park out of the question and i dont expect to be able to go to alton towers so yeah.. only the hills ill be able to get to :L
Thorpe Park wanted to make this ride unique when they designed it (mainly the first inversion mr bright side posted above.) But recent plans show that six flags great adventure has an almost identical design. TP have commented about this saying they could be bitter but instead they want people to call it (and any others like it) the Thorpe Park Inversion!
Message from THORPE PARK 4/09/2011 As you all know, new for 2012 Thorpe Park are opening The Swarm, within the past week news has come out that Six Flags Great America will also open a new Wing Rider ride with many similar features...
Hi THORPE PARK Mania fans.
We hope you're all excited about the arrival of THE SWARM. We're having great fun building up to its launch and we hope you are too!
We wanted to write a little message to you all following the news that Six Flags Great America will also be launching a winged rollercoaster next year very similar to THE SWARM. Some of you may have noticed that when we say it's going to be very similar, it really is going to be VERY similar. When we set about designing and developing our winged coaster we had to make sure it had the THORPE PARK stamp on it. One of the ways we achieved this was by developing the unique inverted dive at the start of the ride that will be sure to kick-off your awesome apocalyptic flight in adrenaline-fuelled style! As you can imagine then, we were quite surprised to see that the new ride at Six Flags will also adopt the 'THORPE PARK Inversion'!
While we could be bitter about this, we would actually like to wish Six Flags Great America the best of luck with the 'THORPE PARK Inversion' and we hope that this is a start of things to come, that one day the 'THORPE PARK Inversion' will become famous in the rollercoaster world! We aim high!
Thanks again for all your support and we'll see you all at Fright Nights.
