morning all 3 of us went to pleasurewoodhills yesterday, arrived at 10:30 and had a 3 for 2 voucher, que to get in was around 10 minutes and the car park was 1/2 full
2 went on carousel first then we headed to totc, noticed the doors were still held open as somebody had previously mentioned,
next we went on fireball, good news was its doing a longer cycle, bad news is i really do have a sneaking suspicion this is going.... theres construction style fence at one end wide enough to get the ride out, so hmm they might just move it over winter i thought, but underneath is now more of the fireball signs/lights that usually stand at the front and some various bits and bobs, and some trolley things round the back of it, if they were just going to relocate it in the park id have thought theyd be left in the maintenence area but its all been placed together :( doesnt look good
anyhoodles next down to sitg which as usual was being run by a happy chappy, allthough his pwh cap looked like it had been dragged 100miles behind a car and my fiance noticed he whiffed a bit nothing to note down here really
then we got the chairlift back and theyve fitted new frilley bits around the top of them, but removed the actuall top cover so you can get wet if it rains now :(
as wed been taking our time we decided to try get some food, well the choice and pricing in the merry mariner is piss poor, although we noticed a small sign mentioning a breakfast for only 3 50 and 4 50 but only served untill 12, the sign was so dam smll!
we then headed to the chip shop in the main street, staff in here were so slow, was a que out of the door as they were waiting for a peice of cod to cook, then somebody with some brains went behind there and served everybody just waiting for sausages etc, wheres the common sence! so after waiting 20 minutes!!!! we went to tesco!
on return the car park was 2/3 full id say, yet still the park seemed very empty, with no que all day longer than 1 turn long
came back and went on the small train, what the hell is that aladin thing doing stuck in the hedge needs to go in the bin! nothing else to note on there
the laser has the beginnings of a que line path been layed but thats all there
wipeout theming looking very sorry for itself and overgrown, but the only place with musi in the park which the place really lacks, dodgems could do with some its quite quiet and dull down that end
sealion show was better than usual with a bloke doing the talking now aswell as the woman, she unfortunately sounds a bit scripted while he was quite good actually
the woodys flying shcool ride looks very dated and isnt even on the map, i saw it go once all day, they should get shot i thing to be fair
enigma had short ques and was looking very weedy so this refurb is a must for next year!
nothing to note on log flume, still looks very nice, the best themed ride in the park, if they can do them all to this standard it will be cool
thunder struch was being dismantled, at a fair pace relly and i do have a couple of snaps of this :)

Sounds like it hasn't changed at all since I visited in June. T'was a mess to say the least.
Shame about the Merry Mairner too, as when they first done it up, it was a really nice restaurant. And whats this Aladdin thing on the Miniature Railway?
Ultimately, did you have a good day out?!? (good to hear about the car park being relatively full for a September day too)

yea there were some fireball themed bits when i visited the last few times this year lurking around and under it but yesterday there just seemed more :( so it doesnt seem good,
i actually complained to pwh about the merry marriner when i went earlier in the year, because i was in a cue behind a little girl who asked politely if she could swap the chips in her meal for the new potatoes, to be firmly told NO i though that was dam out of order that a kiddy was trying to be healthy and wasnt aloud, i never got a reply from pwh about that either, the food staff were so slow in both mm and the chippy, this ultimately spoiled the day as we had to go to tesco and saw alot of people doing the same :(
on the mini railway theres like an aladin fiqure head that looks about 50 years old, has something written on its head in perminent marker, just looks like it should go in the bin,
so yea ultimately had a good day out as usual, just the food options spoiled it, i mean turning the chicken outlet into a pasty place was stupid too, how many kids do you see eating a cornish pasty?..... so whoevers idea that was needs a slap with a wet fish lol
fingers crossed all the niggles get sorted over winter
ps i got some 3 for 2, bogof and return for £10.95 vouchers if anybody is interested for cost of a stamp and envelope, allthough its closed now untill half term then they run out 30th oct
Pasties are the best, better than greasy chicken in my opinion. It is a shame that the food situation is how it is. Food and beverages will provide a massive income for the park and if they get it wrong and people are defecting to Tescos then the park are missing out big time. When I went in 08 I had a burger from the fish and chips place on Main St. and it was very, very poor - in fact it was a disgrace, I've had better Rustlers and Feasters burgers tbh. They should lease the unit out to McDonald's or something. I know the park isn't really open long enough during the year to warrant this so it's unlikely it would happen but at least with McDonald's you know what you are getting.
In that 1986 video I saw kids enjoying Candy Floss...can you still get that on park?
i love pasties, but you dont see many kids eaten 'em, a more unhealthy option like the southern fried chicken place would generate more wonga i would have thought, like you say a lease to a company like mc d would be best but probably wont happen :(
I went on Saturday too. The park was busier than i thought it would be on the last weekend before half term opening (I'd say car park more 1/3 full than 2/3s), although it deffo had an 'end of season' feel to it. Main St shop and Woody's Candy Cabin were closed (short of staff) and certain products not available at the kiosks (including no candyfloss near the Parrots!^^)
I too noticed the fencing around Fireball. I have a feeling this could be the end too, they haven't even changed the safety sign i.e. still says Wizzy Dizzy.
What time did you visit the Merry Marriner, Quin? I was there about 12 noon and they had steak pies, veg, salads and several other options at that time. No Stella from the pump though, they served someone a cans worth!
No change with Wipeout, so i asked the ride op why the teddys were there because the photos for the back seats were comming out fine when i looked. He said it cos the train can only run with 22 people as we suspected?!
we were in the merry mariners around 12 30 and yea saw the larger meal options but didnt fancy any of that, seemed a bit dear for what it was really, also i know its petty but the chips are 10p more in there than the chippy lmao
spotted the perfect pictures on the screens from the back of wipeout too so that sucks a bit they still have bears :(
