yea its a bit of a dull ride, but its always got a que, and to be fair i always go on it too, quite relaxing if you get in a decent arm, got on one that cant of being going quick enough last time i rode as every so often it would painfully hit against the middle :s i think with serious makeover and it actually could look okay,
I joke, I'm not sure why they're being taken off.. I presume for maintenance as the ride is out of action. There are no plans to remove the ride though.
As said before, there are not enough rides in the park to get rid of Thunderstruck, so hopefully thats good news. Hungry Bears site for a reloction, or further down by the Rattlesnake? So many places it could go.
One thing which was obivious on Saturday was that Sky Hooks had zero atmosphere. The ride had a near full load, but people were not reacting, screaming or anything. Boring. My point here is that this should be the first thing to move aside, should they really want to take one away.

Well, it is kinda in the way of the new tower, so they got to move it some how, surely? :)
But yeah, a simple re-paint with more subtle colours would help a lot.

I think the ride is staying exactly where it is, it will need a good paint up. I cant see why they would take just the pods off and not dismantle the rest......
How was that photo taken, the park is closed now? I think its moving. I know they've just taken the pods off, for now, but the tower isn't opening until 2012, so theres plenty of time to get the rest of it moved.
Here's a thoughy, maybe the pods were taken off as the rest can now fold up into the lorry?

Yes they may fold it up style.... does so badly need a paint and a theme and it would at least look better, I say move it to the HungryBears part that does look painful there where nothing sits..
I biked up and into the park on bike thats how i got the photo. It was taken on the old entrance road by the railway bridge

This was taken today at 1pm
And so today a photo on twitter shows Thunderstrucks "arms" being moved by jcb digger out of the entrance by reception....... hmmmm......
Into the entrance down by the dodgems ? OR being sent away for a complete refurb and overhaul ? As we have been told it is not leaving the park line up.
You could well be right about the gates by the dodgems, but we'll just have to wait and see... Exciting stuff really, 4 years of not much happening has brought exciment over a ride being moved!lol
Well i heard whipsers Thunderstruck was having floor work done....so to remove the ride itself may be needed.... I could see no sign of the ride arms near the rattelsnake, the clown slide is still in place minus the clown bit. Lol. I see no reason for the ride parts to exit this was unless it was heading the dodgems way, as it can easily be moved through the rest of the park .... Maybe the photo was done to trick us into thinking it is heading that way..... The jcb was parked up by thunderstruck some 45 mins ago....
I really dont think they went to all that effort just to trick us...
And if it was to do with work on the floor, then I dont think they'd need to strip it to be pieces and spread the load out (pods going to maintenance area, arms clearly leaving parks grounds etc).
Well people had been reporting some of the pods actually hitting the central arm on the way round, so hopefully a bit of repair work and a spruce up will do wonders for the ride.
I tell ya what, the people who do this work to the rides do have some imagination. This, plus the Elephants, Balloons and Enigma's train look SO much better, and its so good to see thought go into this sort of thing, instead of just a plain repaint.
I do hope its going to the Hungry bears area, but with the play area being moved, it could go right next to Wipeout?
What's great is that they are bothering to spend a little bit extra cash to get something better out of it. For too long, PWH has put up with simple repaints and bodge fixes - but the standard of these refurbs is simply fantastic!
I for one wouldn't miss either of those... Although my hatred for the Dodgems is more to do with the fact that they replaced the Tempest than anything else! I still haven't gotten over it after all these years!
Seriously though, neither one adds anything to the park in my opinion... the dodgems are just too slow and the sky hooks are a poor version of the far superior waveswinger from years ago.
