They appear to have removed the railings from the catch car, and added some awful lights:

Well it looks slightly better without the rails. Just wish it looked better in general.

Them rails will have to go back up as they stop the maintenance crew from falling!

Oh right, why would they leave them off then?

No idea. If you read Pete's report, it was supposed to be closed all day, but opened not long before the park closed.

Lawrence, any chance of an update with regards to looking for a 60m tower?

I personally don't think PWH needs the 60m towers as long as they could do s tide traveller on JR. If not then maybe a new tower would be cool but JR is definitely the best tower I've ridden.

Thing is Josh, making Jolly a permanent attraction wouldn't be as simple as just plonking it in a hole. However, they could do what Thorpe Park did with Detonator (cant actually find a decent picture though! They basically have the queue going around the outside of the ride platform and the underside of the ride is covered up with wooden slats and the area around it is all shrubs and wood chip etc - very, very simple, but very affective. This is the best picture I could find:

If PWH could something like this (and I really cannot see why that couldn't...), it would make the world of difference.

Yeah I agree Martyn. Something like Detonator would be good and not that difficult. They obviously have good intentions, as seen with TT, so I can see them making a good effort should they keep this model.

^^ Its a good idea though. A simple way of making the queue that little bit longer. I mean there really is no need to have the ride platform that big in the first place, but I guess thats to with the feet keeping the ride up!

^Not here I hope. From You Tube vids I think it looks very average.

Lets not forget JR is a cracking ride, just needs a tidy-up. Time to think about offering something new for the next ride, not another Tower ride.

Totally agree with Andy. The ride we have now is great. Priority is to make it look permanent and get something else in to attract the crowds. We really really don't need another tower ride!

Thats not even a free fall tower, and it looks like a travelling model.

Looks awful! JR is brilliant as you rightly say it just needs to look good.

Did anyone ever see the Jolly Roger merchandise around the park?

I remember there being a photo on Twitter when the merchandise arrived, yet with the main shop closed all year, I wonder if they actually had any on sale?

There was a recent change on WDC page on the drop tower - I have no idea why as the link had no info on any changes or anything it seemed bizzare that it had been updated with this - it simply said something about site notice I think
