Oo err, whats going on here then....?

Just spotted this on their Twitter...

Time for a wee trim....

Okay.. Quite a large trim!

Looks like they're removing all the trees from in between Thunderstuck and Enigma...but what on earth for.....? (If its just for cosmetic reasons, I'd bit annoyed as its nice having trees like that as they break up the park a bit, and I could imagine it would look quite bare there now.)

We'll see... this certainly interesting anyway...

Interesting... can't possibly imagine why they're doing that

But it's clear that despite poor attendance so far they're still willing to spend money on touching the place up...

It is very odd. I mean, digger? Obviously something is going on here, its just an odd time of year to do it.

I cant see the need to remove them trees for cosmetic reasons, an if this is for a new attraction, wouldn't it have been better to wait until at least september etc? The park is opening in 2 days, and I cant see them having Enigma and Thunderstruck closed.

(The second picture has stopped working for me, can others see it?)

They were clearing the trees supposedly just for cosmetic reasons:

The walk down looks so much better

Much better view of Enigma

To me, it seems like a lot of money to spend for a kind of pointless cosmetic improvement really... I do think something is going on here. Either; They're putting a new ride in Thunderstucks place, which is bigger, so they needed gthe extra romom, or the cleared area is a new pathway down to Enigma, as something is going to happen by the back fence, such a new ride etc.

(They are right though, that is a nice view of Enigma, but what the hell is going on at the transfer track??)

Edit: Just checked their Twit again, someone else had mentioned that blue frame thing on the transfer track, but they've said its going soon, and they've also said that new land is to be turfed...that cancels out my pathway theory!)

I definitely think this is for some kind of future developement.

There is no way they would have spent money like that for something meaningless, and lets face it, the park hadly needs anymore grassy areas!lol

It's quite interesting. However, I doubt anything more than just a tidy up is going on here. How I'd love for this not to be the case though!

Nah I disagree (though I dont know why). That kind of landscaping would have cost an arm and a leg, and I just cant see them doing that for nothing (especially when they seem to refuse point blank on spending money on a new ride).

We might not see anything this year, but I wouldn't be surprised if something happens around that area next year.

Let's hope so. I heard on the grapevine that they were planning an Intamin launch coaster in a top hat design with a 0-140mph in 3 seconds launch with a height of 600ft. I'm serious!

Next time do your maths Joshy, 140mph wouldn't get you up 600ft ;)

^ He's not being serious Matty! XD

I've just thought, this could be something to do with easier maintenance access for Enigma?

Woah! This is a serious waste of money if its nots for a future ride.......

BUT - with so much other space why would they need this particular area for a new addition?

I would imagine it would be easier for planning permission to install tall rides at this end of the park, that is a possibility. That or maybe its something to go in Enigma's pit?

I've solved this one - the trees have been removed so you can get a top notch view of the long, slow moving Enigma queue without having to walk all the way round Thunderstruck. Thus putting people off going down there and keeping queues minimal. Second train - not needed now.

Excellent idea - Lets put riders off actually riding, saves on maintenance, in fact if the plan works well they could close the rides down so people could just pay to look at them! Job done, problem solved!

Go to about :10 seconds, and it looks like they've sorted out some kind of pathway for that cleared area. It is just mud, but it has been flattened out and slops down towards Enigma's queue.

it looks as if the new path will go imbertween the drop ride and Enigma, rather than whta there is currently

Much better place for the queue entrance!

Possibly queues if and when the tower goes in?

That view also makes you realise just how much room there is around Enigma. If need be, a much larger coaster could fit in there with some more ground work.

The view down by Enigma is SO much different, feels very odd!
