Sounds cool. I can't wait to hear it but I agree with Martyn that the problems with Wipeout should also be sorted. :)

Congratulations Voiceoverguy, sounds like it'll really add a good atmosphere to the area... Presumably, the fact that an Austrialian "theme" has been chosen must mean that the previous owners attempts to theme the park to the local area and its maritime history has been abandoned totally? Is Woody still a sailor, I can't remember from my last visit? I know that all the staff aren't anymore!

Woody is still a sailor, but Wipeout's hardly 'maritime' themed, is it? It fits in with the nautical aspect, but thats about it. I cant ever remember hearing/reading about this "local area and its maritime history theme" for the park. But even so, at the end of the day, its pretty hard to get everything to fit in, look at Enigma and Rattlesnake, not very nautical are they? And there was always modern day music played at Wipeout anyway, so its really taking anything away from it.

One thing I will say, is WWTP gets very annoying after a while (that may be done on purpose, I dont know), I hope this doesn't and it would be if it haas some witty humour on it!

I'm fairly sure there was a conscious effort by the previous owners to focus on the local area and its presence by the sea... Sailor staff, sailor woody, local story inside TOTC, maritime main street, lighthouse slide, sea creatures on veteran cars etc.

I would have thought that anything like that would be down to the park management, not the owneers, and from what I rmember, the management hasn't actually changed since the new owners came in. Could have been to do with the old park manager (couldn't spell his name even if I did remember it ;).

It appears as if Wipeout now has a sponsor:

Not a bad choice really ;)

Interesting as Heart East Anglia broadcasted last week that they are the areas most listened to commercial station......

Doesn't Heart cover like the whole of East Anglia now? Or something like that?

The Beach is probably the most listened to station in the area. ie its more popular than Heart in Yarmouth/Lowestoft.

Beach main TSA is Yarmouth, Lowestoft and down to Leiston

Heart is all of Norfolk and Suffolk except Kings Lynn. Will get the figures later when I fancy trawling through RAJAR...lol

I have seen that other banner, but never really paid any attention to it. The older banner looks more like advertising instead of sponsoring.

^ I think there should be music heard throughout the park - does not have to be too loud - really helps the atmosphere - i liked the wipeout style on firework night even though it was a pre recorded tape of bits, it did help

^ Depends on what type of music really. If the music is right, it can change the whole image of a park. Disney are usually the perfectionists at that, but then they do have the money for a 1000 piece orchestra just for one rides queue line music!

In saying that though, one of the best musical mixes I've heard was at Alton, when they were playing the Beetlejuice theme in Duel Live. It was amazing, fitted in PERFECTLY. Its a little cheesey I know, but then so is Duel. IMO they should look at making it a permanent fix. Its just an amazing piece of music really.

I agree it has to be the right music...the park really lacks an atmosphere in so many places the music would be good

I was told by Laurence that WFM should make it's debut in April 2012.
Let's hope anyway!

Ah like what they had for firework night I assume ? A booth broadcasting to the whole park would be better though, like blackpool

True, but still if done right this could be used as a trial, if positive comments received about this, then maybe a park wide radio

To be honest, thats an AWFUL idea. The radio style music suits Wipeout's theme, and thats it. The park isn't GYPB. They should have atmospheric music playing around the park, not pop music.

Maybe. It needs something. Think social media would be good mixed in with it all

Just been reading the objection letetrs to wipeout when the council did a u turn if you like and allow the noise limit to change. People do write the funniest things. Also I did notice that some applications still show "pending" on WDC about PWH even though they have been approved

Is this change to the sound system still going ahead?

And Laurence, could you please give us any info on the coaster's train? Please tell me we aren't going to have another year with seats out of use for no reason?
