Sky Hooks

The following message appeared on the official Pleasurewood Hills twitter this morning...

"Good morning! Sky Hooks is the only thing to report so far as it's a permanent closure."

RE: Sky Hooks Tweet

Haha, I proper talked that up in other thread! Great news....in a way....

The ride was old and awful, but we now have one less ride in an already bare park...

Let's hope they replace it with that drop tower pronto eh? ;)

Hmm, it would be a good location...

And this really does make the park even more desperate for a new ride.

I didn't see this...very interesting. And yes that is a perfect location for a drop tower, although any location is perfect...just get a goddamn drop tower!!!

It would be great... you'd see it peeking through the trees from the car park, and also once you get through the entrance gates too...

Not disappointed to see it go, for the reasons stated above. Agreed - spot-on place for a drop tower! Fingers Crossed!

PWH, have finally made an appearance on Facebook today responding to John Mclane's Sky Hooks enquiry.

No, The Sky Hooks are closed due to refurbishment

Weird mixed messages from PWH.  I have messaged them this morning as to why they haven't been keeping Twitter up to date as they promised.

Yeah it is as it is such a poor ride. And it's pretty antiquated also.

It's nice they have got rid of the multiple coloured fence around it. You're right just get rid of it though!

I wouldn't be too surprised if the arrival of the Drop Tower calls an end to its days, and Thunderstruck moves there.

Sky Hooks has reopened;

God its so ugly! Iif they really are intent on keeping it, I wish they'd give it a new paint job, and make it look more traditional, and more like how it was when it was first made.

The same ride at Pleasure Island looks a lot better:

All they'd need to do is then fill in the blank spaces with that vintage style pattern etc, and it would then just look so much better, and I would be happy to have it in the park.

New seats look good but I agree it needs a nice new paint job - and a better name!

Don't know if its my eyes playing tricks on me, but it looks like the fence around Sky Hooks has been painted orange and yellow....

I haven't seen it yet but I am liking the permanent queue lanes, fences etc. from the pictures though the pony ride just looks so messy and unpolished.

I would imagine that is looking better around there, though the Pony ride does look a state if I'm being honest.

So we have Fireball and Pirate Ship that have been ruined by being run on the poor settings, and I think we may have a third...

This was as fast as it got, and it really didn't feel that fast, nor it did it look like the chairs were swinging out as much as they normally do, could just be me though....

Oh, and just how much better does it look now:

And having seen it in person, I now agree with Lawrence, the coloured fencing does work well, in fact, that whole area has such a great feel to it, its all so well presented and FULL of rides. Even the Pony Trek looks quite nice tbh.
