Cast your memories back to when the forum first started.... from what I can remember there was lots of talk abot how pants the Pirate Ship had become, something to do with it not swinging very high because of its motor?
Now am I right in thinking that it got fixed (new motors) and now does swing to its full height again?
I'm pretty certain I remember reading something along them lines, but I'm not 100%.
(I think it may even have been Pleasurewood that came out and said its had a re-furb?)
^ That is the link to the thread from my review last year. I noted that it had seem to be running smoother, looked better and felt as if it was swinging higher. There was a mini-debate and then the 'Stitch' user account (someone from Pleasurewood?) confirmed that it had been overhauled the previous winter and was swashbuckling once more!
Does anyone remember the days when you used to exit on the other side of the ride? I can only seem to remember that period vaguely, so I may be wrong - but the other side of the ship has the capability to unload in that area. It's always interesting looking at things like this in parts of the park - another is the 'photo spot' almost adjacent to the Pirate Ship, which is a small area of ground that overlooks Enigma.
Thanks Leon, I knew I was right somewhere along the line. That 'photo spot' you're on about is there because that used to be the way to get to the top of the old Astro Slide, I think.
(And after reading that post from Stitch in that topic, I cant help but feel a little let down by PWH, he seemed so positive?...and what happened to datman?lol)
