We all know that the summer has been well, wet. Looks like its had a big impact on this years gate-figures:
>>Pleasurewood Hills theme park is one of the attractions which was hoping for a better peak summer season.
Alexis Camelin, general manager at the theme park, said: “We've had a decent season altogether but we were expecting to do a lot better. The problem is the weather - August has been absolutely terrible.
“It's been very wet which is disappointing because we were expecting more holiday makers this year.”<<
Never mind Alexis, with the Nature Trail next year, they'll be flooding through the gates
It's a shame really. The weather has been appalling throughout August - cold, wet and windy for the most part; felt more like October.
I am still to visit this year - I feel bad as I do like to support PWH all I can but since my Missus became pregnant rides have been out of the question. I have a week off work on Halloween week when I am going to AT so may take a day out at The Hills aswell.
Thanks for the congrats guys, we have a little girl due on 30th December :) I'm well looking forward to the day I get to take her to her first theme park!
I fear that we are going to have another year of no major development. I really appreciate that the park are putting a lot of effort into the general feel and quality of the park which is really important. I remember in an email from Terry Nunn that new attractions were dependant on the gate figures and as the summer has been pretty disappointing then it doesn't bode well for a new attraction next season.
PWH should have looked at getting that water ride (or something similar) that Thorpe Park are getting next year:

It's an ideal size and thrill for a park like PWH - actually I don't really think it's that well suited to Thorpe Park.
Hopefully, the hills will prove us wrong this time around.
BTW, glad to see the PWH are bringing back Stitch.
Hopefully will inspire them to do something to get more people to come!
You'd think so wouldn't ya? But like Josh said, any new ride was dependant on gate figures, and if they've been poor, then we obviously ain't going to see anything new.
Which to me, is the most ridiculous way to run a business.
Since the joint ownership finished, PWH has brought in Kite Flyer, Balloons, Wipeout, Thunderstruck and Woody's Flyers.
Ligh****er has invested in River Rapids, Eagles Claw, Waveswinger, Tower ride, Big Wheel, major refurb of the rat and a rollercoaster for next year.
I have probably missed some, but you get the idea. Very similar parks, just one which invests in new-to-them attractions nearly every year - AND ITS PAYING OFF. Raptor Attack has, so i hear, helped give them one of their best seasons for a decade.
Dodgems & Enigma were there before the two parks came under the same management, and Enigma has had a mere lick of paint since, no sign of a major refurb or anything like the rat at LWV.
I think it was 1999/2000 the joint ownership finished....
LWV has invested well in the recent seasons and is a much better park for it, a fact you can't escape, and a good example of a path PWH should have followed.

Sorry but I cant agree with you Andyb. I went to Ligh****er last August, and we left by 1pm. The park has lovely grounds, but its just so dull and has no character to it. At least the colourfulness of Pleasurewood makes it a bit cheery.
When you visit a park like Ligh****er, it makes you realise the importance of having shows such as the Sea Lion and Parrot show. They give you something else to do, and a reason to stay longer.
Oh, and Ligh****er is like £20 to get in to, so with that in mind, I think its unfair to compare Pleasurewood to Ligh****er. Compare it to Pleasure Island by all means!lol
Martyn, i visited LWV in the late 90s and it was a dive, much worse than PWH ever got, so i was impressed with what they had done recently. The place was buzzing, although it was a busy day.
Pleasure Island has some good kit, but for me lacks any 'feel'. Be good to have Hyper Blaster etc. at PWH!!
