Been posted on a different topic but I thought this could be the place to discuss the new Nature Walk that is being built at Pleasurewood Hills in 2010. This was confirmed in a local newspaper.
I think it could be quite a good idea and it does show that people are thinking of adding stuff to the park. If it's put in the SING area and is presented nicely then I have no issue with it. Although I am still hoping for a Rapids Ride in that area.
Perhaps this is the first steps of the park becoming more animal like aswell... doubt the neighbours would be happy!

Not sure if its the same source of info but according to the edp site
The park has also introduced an internet booking system this year for the first time, so that holidaymakers can plan their trip and buy tickets in advance.
“This is important because people like to know where they can go on holiday and how much it will cost. We are also focussing on increasing the number of group bookings for this season, and we've already got that up by 60pc from last year which is a great start,” said Mr Camelin.
He added: “I would like to introduce more for younger children. We have a new play area this year and next year we're hoping to use some of our woodland to create a nature trail with tree houses.”
He wants MORE for younger children?! That is ridiculous- there already sorted! He needs to refurb a couple of rides and add a rapids and drop tower before even thinking of the younger ones!
“The potential here is huge - we have lots of land and there is so much which could be done. It is very exciting to be able to come somewhere which is already so well loved and be given the chance to make it even better.”
Well I suppose at least he recognizes that there is a lot of empty space to be dealt which isn't a bad thing.
Also on the website it states that they are redoing the queuing systems on rides and that there is a new Urban Circus show with BMX stunts. Sounds interesting!
Hopefully they will be looking for things that will fill up the empty space...
Interesting idea here. As long as it's not the only new attraction for 2011 then I will be happy. If it is then I think PWH will be falling behind, by quite some way, to other parks in the UK that are of a similar size. I am all for the regeneration of the park as a whole but a new MAJOR attraction should be added next year.
Agree totally Josh. If the nature walk is the only new attraction for next year then I will be bitterly disappointed. I hope not though and I'm glad to see that there seems to be quite abit of reinvention at the park...
Do you think there's any way a Q and A could be formed with the new manager- I think that could be interesting!
What website was that taken from Patrick? I couldn't find anything on Pleasurewood's......
I suppose if you put it like that Josh, it wouldn't be such a bad addidtion, as long there's something big to go with it.
I reckon it would still be poor though, probably just a walk through the woods. They should do what Chessington have started to do, and build random 'walk-through' animal enclosure's around the park.
Yeah it's good that there is seems to be a small scale regeneration of the park going on again, it's just a shame that are advertising a nature walk and not a new ride!
I think they may have picked the wrong manager if he is more concerned about improving the park for little kids... I hope I am proved wrong.
Interesting article there, thanks Patrick, for finding that. There is a video of Camelin on there too. I haven't watched it yet but could be interesting.

Like i said above copying a certain park up the road, which to be fair seems a success and is often in the national press.
I wonder WHY he thinks more is needed for kids? I've always said its a plus point for the park - the amount kids have there. I don't think this man has much - if any - theme park experience. Managing caravans is slightly different to rides LOL, although lets give him a chance of course!
Much of the problem at PWH is that over the years its had so many different owners and managers. There has been no continuity, and seemingly no long-term plans. I had hoped this had changed with the current owners, but I'm not too sure now.
With regards to the queue lanes i noticed some higher fencing on the Wipeout queue this must be it LOL
Also on that EDP Business site it said the visit numbers have remained at around 250,000. A similar number to pre-Wipeout i believe. Maybe that has also put them off introducing new ride(s).

I know Wipeout was new to Pleasurewood Hills but there is nothing about it that screams "come to Pleasurewood". Obviously it would have attracted a certain amount of people to the park and it certainly reignited my interest in the park after many years of never visiting.
However, it is still a ride which is 22 years old, and by no means unique in anyway. Now I know that Gerstauler Eurofighters are becoming as common as muck but they are very unique in the way they look and are intimidating for the average theme park visitor. A ride of this nature advertised on the telly would attract a number of people to the park who had not visited before.
PWH caters brilliantly for the East of England and many locals will have a fondness for the place even if it does pale in comparison to some of the UKs big, or even medium, sized parks but I think PWH need to try and attract some people from further afield.
It's crazy to think that a coaster originally built in 1988 is actually PWH's youngest coaster. We need something unique and enticing - don't get me wrong I have never expected a park like PWH to install a massive B&M inverter, or an Intamin Accelerator Coaster but maybe they could take a leaf out of Flamingoland's book and install some great alternatives to these rides.
I know it is probably tough concerning planning consent and all that, especially with the Wipeout issues but I don't think PWH can sit back any longer.
i went to adventure island in sothend yesterday and went on rage twice. I think a euro fighter or mabey for a bit more money a gertalaur lanch coaster (I have not been on one of these but they look really good and i belive Oskar has been on one)
hi i have seen the new circus show and it is quite boring all there is is a bunch of kids dancing and doing simple tricks on bmx nothing exciting
I would argue that your review is a little harsh. I visited the park over the weekend and went to see the castle theatre show and was quite impressed, certainly when compared to some of the shows of the past.
"Cirque Imagine" was the name of the group of performers and "Street Arts" was the theme for this year. The show consist of Street Dance, BMX tricks, hula-hooping and a few audience participation elements with the crowd including a nifty balance trick with four people from the audience. I personally found it quite enjoyable.
Cool, I look forward to seeing this. I really enjoyed the Tango Circus they had last year. By the way, is there any noticeable improvement/changes to the Castle Theatre?
Looking back at this topic seems a bit weird, not only because the nature trail still hasn't been completed, but Martyn's post we now have a new thrill ride and a new family ride, all we need now is a compact coaster, Enigma has been re-vamp as has thunderstruck, and that leaves the other three in urgent need of a re-vamp but this is 2 years later...
