Should I go back to Pleasurewood Hills?

I havent been to Pleasurewood Hills for about 2 years now (since the amazing wipeout first opened) and haven't been back since.

The question is - is it worth me going back? I enjoyed Wipeout and Wizzy Dizzy but theres nothing is really there? Has the park improved since I was last there? Are there any new rides?

Thanks- I think this is the right place to ask!

Hey Patrick

I think you should. The park hasn't really made any additions since Wipeout but they are continuing to clean the place up and refurbishing areas and rides. See my trip report in the My Visit" section for pictures of the park in August.

Thank you- I haven't been since 2007 and I noticed that there were alot of improvements- I'm guessing 2009 is even better?

I really hope all these small improvements mean they are hoping to save money this year and build a well themed rapids ride or new rollercoaster?

Does anyone if this has been suggested yet?

To be honest, I dont think it is worth you going back....just yet. You may as well wait until next year when we'll hopefully have a new ride to cheer us up!

Whilst the park has been making small improvements, the biggest changes noted for this year has to be on the marketing side of things. We have seen a new website, park map and an overall 're-branding/new look' design for the park this year. Advertising has been very heavy this year with a new TV advert too, plus many adverts on local Radio stations and posters all over the First buses.

Hopefully their efforts in marketing this year has been worth the cost, and next year we shall a new ride to look forward to :D

Thank you - I think I am going to go back next year and look on this website for updates as to the "Enigma"  (also- is this going to be called Cannonball Express) and a new rapids ride. Hopefully the advertising will have paid off, big gate numbers will reported and the powers at Pleasure wood Hills will start building some new rides.

It used to be called the Cannonball Express - then they ditched the name for something crappy.

Surely they will change the name back- hasnt the old Cannonball Express trains been seen?

Cannonball Express has so much more themeing opportunities- instead of boring "Enigma" yawn

I wouldn't get you hopes buddy. Afer reading a few of your posts n the board, you're getting a bit too excited about the Rapids and Enigma rumours, when they are just that.

And they wouldn't put anything on the website about an Enigma refit, only new attractions would be advertised on there. They may mention it after doing it, like they did with Timber Falls.

I suppose- I just really hoped the park would be doing something good for next year. And perhaps it will- however if planning permission has not been given/ asked for  then I really doubt anything big will suffice this year....

I think they should get a new attraction for next year to be honest. Alton Towers will draw a lot of customers away from PH next year with SW6. For example a local family from Norwich for instance, go to Pleasurewood Hills once a year as a treat. Upon planning there annual trip they spot a TV advert for Alton Towers brand spanking new coaster "Surrender" or whatever it's going to be called. They check PH site to see if they have added a new attraction and upon discovering they haven't decide to spend a little extra this year and experience Alton Towers.

My point is that PH need to attract people back and can not do it with the same attractions year on year and if nothing comes in 2010 then that will be the third year without a major new installation.

So I think we should see something next year. Hopefully.

You're right, it is a serious issue. For the first time for as long as I can remember, I'm probably not going to be visting the park for the year, and I normally visit 2 or 3 times a year.

Granted, once Wipeout had opened, I went loads :) but there just isn't enough to do. They have spent alot of money on marketing this year, so lets hope thats paid off and we'll see something new next year.

Hopefully we will see something next year- but your both absolutely right that people will decide not to go back to park if it can only offer what I had last night. ( I am oneof them- I haven't been since they opened Wipeout cry ) but I would think that if gate figures have been high this year then they will open a new attraction... Here's hoping eh? hmm
