Visit: 2 Sep 2009 (no pics)

Heyy, been lurking on these forums for a while, but as I actually paid a visit to PWH today I thought I'd share my thoughts...

Haven't been since 2007 when Wipeout was installed, and was fairly disappointed to see that basically nothing has changed since. The park still looks really sparse and bare, and unless you're a local resident and know what to expect - I can imagine many tourists being annoyed at the ability to do basically every ride within 3 or 4 hours...

However, I did have a thoroughly enjoyable day - and although all the "new" features have been picked up on by the visit thread just down the page, I suppose I can comment on the things I thought about the park this year.

When I got in, we went straight for Enigma (which was again a single train - the green Cannonball Express one) which had a short, but slow-moving and irritating queue... Two trains are desperately needed! By the time Enigma had been ridden, Wipeout was up and running and the first of many goes on that was taken. Queue was really short - only had to wait two or three trains each time, and the turnover was quick too. Ride was very fun, though two cars were left empty still.

Chairlift fountain was turned on JUST before I passed over it - cheeky buggers - and the park looked really clean and tidy. Just VERY bare.

Timber Falls, although I didn't go on it (cold weather) looks good with it's new paint job, logo and theming and the new entrance to the Sea Lion show is *MUCH* better positioned imo.

Was well impressed with the shows this year. As always the Sea Lion's were on top form, with the presenter being brilliant. The Circus show was surprisingly BRILLIANT - with a PACKED Castle Theatre!

Large Train was shut, anyone know why it has been for a while? No sign of any building work or ANYTHING going on apart from the normal park stuff really...

Any questions, lol?

Oh, also just remembered I noticed they have started preparing for Halloween in the woods.

^ So is that happening in the corner next to SNIG?

Datman (PWH employee) reported a few weeks that the train had been painted some ridiculous 'rainbow' colours (damn you PWH and your stupid colours), but thats about it. Its not been open much this year.

Large train was also shut when I went a few weeks back...maybe the driver's off sick :)

I'm glad you had a good time and yes I agree that there is a lot of bare space in the park - they need a nice new river rapids ride to fill them up with!

I just hope next year brings us something to look forward to.

Glad to here you had a good day! Totally agree with you about "Enigma"- hopefully rumors of major face lift will be confirmed soon? It seems they are sprucing up there older rides (Timber Falls etc) but they are in desperate needs of something new. Hopefully rapids will be confirmed soon!
